The chap that's driving this car this year in the IDC is 14!!! Jack Shanahan's his name. A future star!

    Crazy skill for his age!

Edit: And the car is blooming mind blowingly aggresive :)

I wish I could afford an S14 drift car now, never mind at 14. :(

I know the kids obviously very talented but I can't help but feel a slight resentment. :p

Goin by the sponsor on the front of the car, i'm guessing his family is in the trade. Which is handy :)

    I know his uncle.

I would love to know how he insures that...

It's been talked about before but you need about 40 people, fully committed to paying 150+ and then fuel and tyres on top for our own day.
Some of the lads did a training day together and had great fun.

I think I'm fully committed to doing a day in the MX5 if I can get it trailered out there...

At 14 i wouldnt even know what to do with it. I'd probably just polish n wash it till there's no paint left

I'm guessing its not road legal?

Do you need to insure it for motor sport?

    Same as myself. :p
To be honest, at that age I liked cars but i was to caught up in becoming a rock star and skating everyday to care too much about them.
I may have replaced skating with driving but I still wouldn't know what to do with it. :D

    I wouldn't say so.
Fully stripped, full cage, hydro brake, harnesses, fixed racing seat and a big fat turbo?
    Good luck! Haha

40 people? Don't think that would be a problem.
€150? Not too bad for a day of fun. :P
Fuel? Don't imagine it would be a problem, depending on what you're driving though ofcourse.
Tyres? Well, I wasn't thinking about a drifting event kinda thing, although that would be fun... just fun laps around the track kind of thing.

What if he loses control of it an hits somebody? Kills someone even.
    Or just does damage something.

I wonder if its even legal.

Track driving still requires tyres and your brakes will be under lots of pressure too.

Are there even 40 people here who would go and keep their word on going? Probably not...

There is track insurance buy I know for track days its not mandatory.
Surely IDC would be classed as motor racing?
I think everyone knows of the risks involved when it comes to motorsport, so can't see why you'd need insurance.
Waivers i take it are involved

We can barely get 20 to go to midway, never mind the track. ;)
I'm not working at the minute so 150 is a lot to me.
You'll eat a Trans of fuel very quickly on a track, tyres too! They turn to shreds even when not drifting.

There's a track day in Mondello every bank holiday I think.

The event would legally have to have public liability insurance, that would cover hitting some one.

Having young lads in motor sports has always been the way, perfectly legal.
You think Hamilton hopped in a Mclarren on his 18 birthday and was sent on his way?
Long way up in karting etc. as a young lad. :)

While i'd love to do it, i dont think i'd be doin it in my C180k. Would love to invest in a track car but then no money for a wife n kids :pac:
