I think utd will go through tonight- As a Liverpool fan I think a semi-final meeting with Chelsea would be great viewing for the neutral*

*Obviously as a Liverpool fan I am not a neutral:)

Does anyone remember Glenn Hoddle's ( I think he was the manager) interview after the Spurs 3-5 United match years ago. He said in the post match interview that scoring the third goal just before half time like they did was bad for the team, had they gone in leading 2-0 they would have been fine, but 3-0 was dangerous for them.

Good old Hoddle, he also said Handicapped people were being punished for sins in a past life.

he could be right - who knows what the correct God to believe in does with its morality.

Read Tony Cascarinos book. Was not big fan of Hoddle. Said he loved showing off. Although probably just irrated Cas as Hoddle still probably had more skill then Cas when he retired:p

Gary Neville was a big fan - but said he reckoned the England job came too soon for him. Also a big fan of Venebles. Said both managers were hung out to dry by the FA when they should have been standing by them (as they were going places with the squad, as opposed to England being 'special'!)

It's only two signings. Not total fantasy. Would be amazing to get both of them. Both fairly young players too mmmmm

In the interest of balance and maybe expanding my views, can you explain how exactly Evra has been/ still is a massive player?

I don't buy into this "big character in the dressing room "bull****, he comes accross extremely uninspirational and I rarely see him show any signs of a good captain on the field. And when your own game is in the pits and your struggling, I find it hard to know how your giving a lift or benefit to the team, like a massive player should.

De Gea is a massive player. As the last time of defence, he gives security to a defense who know they have an incredible goalkeeper behind them, improving as he claims more and more crosses, and that any shot that goes through has every chance of being saved.

Rooney is massive player. Endless work rate to fight for the ball over every inch, combined with technical ability to score or create chances with others. His work rate absolutely embarrasses other players in the team.

I fail to see how Evra is anything other then living on "experience" at this point, which as I said means ****s all when your five yards of the pace : /

but he is..... and he has a huge presence around Carrington as well. big influence in the French national team as well.

Easy to forget how good a player who have until he is gone. and rightly so he will be gone this summer... but to say he has been awful for the past 2 seasons isn't accurate....

Bayern haven't beaten English opposition for the last four times at the Alliance arena.

I would be happy with a 2-2 draw, with Kroos thinking how much better United would be with him in the team and how he would be valued more...

The idea of a possibility of penalties.....remembering Sunderland still produces nightmares lol

Permenent singing section going ahead. Great news. Just bit on it here. Hopefully long term season ticket holders here want be part of it or least looked after. Thats the downfall
Location of the full time singing section. Fans who took part in both trials can now ring the ticket office and choose a seat in the section. Payment doesn't need to be made now.
It's now down to fans to make this work for every game. Make it loud and make a difference to Old Trafford

Using Garth Crooks' insight to back up your own opinion. It's not a great road to go down tbh, he's pound for pound the worst 'expert' I've ever had the displeasure of listening to. And that takes some doing with Merson and Shearer knocking about.

Just going off that headline - can you imagine if Woodward DID try to negotiate for Kroos during the match...?

"That guy on the ball, there, can we buy him. No? How about that fella? This one? That guy on the bench?... selfish pr****".

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 497 ✭✭Ernest Oreo

Ed Woodward should probably have stayed with JP Morgan.

he should be advising Moyes re where to invest his pension.

    thats not correct
i have always felt he is limited as a football
he is a fox-in-the-box type player - and thats fine.
but he isnt clinical enough to justify a starting position
he would need to participate far more in the game for me to be interested
or suddenly become a one chance / one goal type player
at the minute he is neither - therefore i wont be too distressed to see him join newcastle / west ham / villa / nantes / fiorentina et al

Big European game today. I'm stupidly optimistic and looking forward to it. Come on the thread hoping for a bit of hype and all I get is a big killjoy.

Plenty of time to be at that craic if we lose.
