I would be considered by the "anti-Moyes" brigade as a "Pro-Moyes" fan. In truth I am solely a Manchester United fan. I was willing to give Moyes a couple of seasons because I think a lot of work was needed on the squad, and perhaps behind the scenes (scouting network, etc.).
It's been tough this season. I've been at OT for a couple of our defeats and felt utterly dejected. But I stand by the manager of Manchester United for now.

If he spends a load of money in the summer, and in October we're all over the place again, I will call for his head. I will do it because he will have had the proper opportunity to get things right by then.

As of now, he still hasn't had enough time. Let him cut out the deadweight in the squad and bring in some new players. We'll see what he's capable of then.

That's a very balanced post. Are you sure you are okay? ;)

You can also use tonnes of other examples to highlight the same point but as I said about, shortterm, kneejerkery is unfortunately a big part of why players/managers get written off so fast.

I always think my posts regarding Moyes are balanced but maybe thats just me :D Sure I get into heated discussion when people try to claim he didn't try to sign x or y players when I know it to be false and the odd debate about Clev but I have had plenty of negative things to say about him too.

The fact you're still going on about there being a 'pro-Moyes brigade' is ridiculous tbh. I'm pro-United and if you read my posts I've given out about Moyes plenty. Just because people like to not take negatives from every situation and blame everything bar 9/11 on the manager doesn't mean that we are unfalteringly loyal to him. It's just something that the negative people on here use to discredit anything that doesn't paint Moyes in a negative light.

Its very annoying and a childish stance to take. I have been labeled with the pro Moyes & Woody label many times because I am willing to give them more time than one season. The pro Moyes label was being used a few months into Moyes tenure.

Moyes is there next season whether we like it or not. I hope he has a good season and we have a better squad and we get our title back.

I'd like to see him be more attack minded in the later stages of a game. If the results and performances are still poor or at this current level then I will call for his head.

I think it will be better for United if Moyes gets things working than if he gets sacked and they bring in a travelling manager type. Thats why I will give him full support. Fans wanting him to lose so he gets sacked arnt thinking about anything other than themselves I feel. Im happy enough waiting a couple of years for that provided things dont get too bad. Maybe I am pro moyes.I know for certain the job isnt just a matter of picking the most likeable players. He is walking a minefield clearing people out and not turning the dressing room.
Players seeing fans constantly bemoaning him wont help.
What petrifies me is United turning into a club where if the players dont like the managers actions they just do a go slow until hes sacked. I do think some players are on a go slow.

Just reading Moyes needs time lark, people are dumb. Plain and simple. Iv given up on trying to even acknowledge their input. How a manager that has destroyed a PL winning team, resulted in plenty of unwanted records, playing the awful soccer for 99% of the season and he needs more time? Im hitting my head of the table here, reading such stupid posts

    ****ing morans anyway

This. I've been saying all season, but certain people don't want to know.

Couple of years is a bit much now for me! I think the summer will give him the chance to bring in the new players that he needs and re-think his strategy so signs of a recovery should be seen by January. If the same problems exist at that point in the season, then I would be looking at a new manager. But I don't think there will be.

He hasn't destroyed any team. We are not competing for the title this season. We will have to go without UCL football next season barring a miracle.

We will be playing football next season and in the mix for three trophies. The fans will still turn up to OT. Our players will still train and play. Players will sign, some will leave. We will get good results and some bad. There will be goals for and against. Man Utd will still be a name held in high regard in the football world and one of the top four in the world (Barca, Madrid, Bayern). Life goes on.

You don't undo a clubs history in one season. All great teams have had dips.

Saying Moyes has destroyed UTD could be classed as moronic.

Firstly, there's no need to be calling people morons.

Secondly, he has not destroyed anything. They won it last year, they won't win it this year. Deal with it.
It doesn't mean he's destroyed our players. They didn't look destroyed at the weekend.

I just give up tbh. "He hasnt destroyed any team" im gobsmacked. So let me get this straight, your saying finishing 7th, out of the CL qualification, worse points total since the PL started, numerous unwanted records, numerous embarrassing defeats isnt destroying the team? Bloody hell!

Its such a defeatist mindset "You don't undo a clubs history in one season. All great teams have had dips.". Liverpool were like that one day too. This is why im different than you. I dont have defeatist mindset like you, I want utd to strive for somthing better each season. Why shouldnt they? You could even say the appointment of a manager that has done **** all in the soccer world has brought this awful mentality to our club.

Well considering he hasn't sold anyone I'm not sure how he can have destroyed it. The players have a lot to answer for considering the exact same combinations in the exact same formation were putting in winning performances just a few months previously. But then I guess they could afford to be defensively lax because they had RvP in form. At times this season the lumbering play has been baffling and certainly not something I can imagine Moyes encouraging.

Actually you are the one with the defeatist attitude, we're the optimists.
Let me set you straight: we'er not certain to finish 7th - we could well finish a fair bit higher than that if we keep the decent run going.
We may or may not be in the CL next season - it remains to be seen.
who gives a damn about records?? they mean nothing.
losing 6-2 at home to city a few years ago was humiliating. i wasnt calling for SAF's head. It happens when there are problems with the team.

cheer up. Don't be such a defeatist. :pac:

Did I call you a moran directly? If you want to say I did fair enough but find the quote

Ya one game is really going to make a difference. I hate when posters bring up one game out of so many brutal ones to make a point, hello your not making a good point. Your digging a hole for yourself. One swallow never makes a summer. 33 games played majority of them brutal.

I was going to quote one of your last posts and laugh at you for being such a child but I decided to leave it off.

This one pushed me over the edge though, don't be such a baby.

You didn't say it directly but the intent was clear.

I'm not saying one game makes the season all rosy. I was making a point, however; you said they have been destroyed, I pointed out that that is not the case because they didn't look destroyed at the weekend.

    Stop digging.

I think the most annoying thing about this season is the constant comparisons to Liverpool. Having Liverpool fans come in here and say it's the same as it was with Hodgson and shìt like that is so infuriating because of how different the situations are and now United fans are doing it? You're just feeding their self vindicated smugness that they've been through it all and know what they're on about.

But where was it going wrong? Rvp having little movement or interplay. If he gets dropped theres a backlash he just has to weight it out he knows he will get injured sooner or later.
Ferdinand and evra phoning in performances while he is trying to figure out his best back 4 as well as injuries there.
The two in front of the defence stopping the ball evertime they get it turning left then right waiting for the oposition to get into position then passing sideways.
There was a whole lot going on that he wants to change but he has to play the politics in his first year.

Once again you demonstrate the level of debate you prefer to operate at, so I don't really see any point. No doubt you will see this as a win or something equally childish.

You did it indirectly and you knew what you were doing.

It's a shame you damaged your own points with that post as it was the type of post that makes people look past any rational point you make (that's if you made any :-p )

To be fair you did want Moyes gone before he even started the job. He hasn't done anything that anyone could say should change your mind.

Bit hard to post when on the mobile im afraid. I also apologies for my childish post, its just getting so tiring to read so many time lark posts from certain posters

I can never understand how fans keep supporting a manager that has shown he isnt utd quality. It has ignorance at this stage. Moyes wasnt the right man in the first place but to manage to make the team go from PL winning team to 6-7 spot in the league is some doing. I cant emphasis this enough. Yes the players have some of the blame but for me they dont want to play for Moyes. Besides Moyes being tactically stoned age, the players also must look at Moyes and wonder how did he get the job? You go from Fergie and then Moyes, bloody hell. That is some drop. Im not saying any manager could even get close to Fergie but im sure as hell say alot of managers would of lesson the blow of losing Fergie.

Of course fans like myself want Moyes to succeed but its clear he wont, when does it come that enough is enough, he has to go? This so called dip in form is a very slippery road and it could be a start of big trouble for next season. If Moyes was trying to put his own stamp on the team, I could live with this rubbish but Moyes has brought nothing to the club for any fan to stand up and say give him time.
