Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Exactly! A lot of people would have killed for a low B. Although that would probably have messed up their vetting :)

Nearly had a heart attack this morning, saw an envelope with the PSNI crest hanging in the letterbox. My hopes for PCA/vetting were sadly dashed when I seen it was addressed "to the occupier" and they just wanted to tell me how good their 2013 was.:o:(

Anything from psni will come in a nice non descript plain envelope!

Somehow read the thread title as biatch

Ever since you posted this I've been doing this too. Although it's more 'Delay email, bitch' in pure Jesse Pinkman style.

I'm watching breaking bad at the minute so I could have named it that! Although don't think the thread would have lasted that long!

vick i'm in the same boat,66% and impatiently waiting....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 106 ✭✭Clare1304

I think that 68 was me. I know someone with the same mark who hasn't received anything. I don't get it.....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 380 ✭✭vickmackey

yeah, I'd agree that while the waiting is frustrating, its the "NOT KNOWING WHAT THE HECK WAY THINGS ARE BEING DONE" is the most frustrating! -- have to say, I really have appreciated that the folks who have already progressed have been good enough to give an idea of how they received their letters and responses etc.....its seems its the only real way of getting an idea of how things progress.......
hurry up postie!....worse than Valentines day or School report day when I was a kid! (a long time ago!!)

The wait goes on!! Dying to get a PCA date!

Just want to know I'm in with a chance!

Got the letter from Matt Baggot yesterday!

Wouldnt really make sense for them to run a completely new competition for the new intake that was in Matt Baggot's letter would it? Surely they'd use people from the list in this competition?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 380 ✭✭vickmackey

from my reading on initial process, they weren't doing a new recruitment campaign for couple of years, or at least until they had started all the successful candidates from this campaign, which may take a while..

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,262 ✭✭✭DesertCreat_15

This is worse than waiting to hear if we passed or failed !

Anyone with balls bigger than mine* want to call or email PSNI HR to find out once and for all? :P

    * Figuratively speaking

Still no post today, this is killing me :( 66% pass I thought was a decent enough mark, just hope I hear soon

I have a feeling they may wait until the first batch start in GV before they contact us so they don't overload themselves. Just a guess. Would like it to be before.

    Hoping it's sooner though!!

could well be possibility....or not.....or may be....or not.....ah well, just have to keep guessing and training and pouncing on the poor postie!! ;-)

  • Registered Users Posts: 165 ✭✭missyme82

I am preferring waiting on the postman. once he is gone for the day I can forget about it until the next day. When I was waiting on an email I obsessed from 9am until 8pm at night. only time I didn't was the weekend lol.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 380 ✭✭vickmackey

think the postman kinda looks forward to getting pounced on now!! ;-)

   ........ooooooooo.....cheers!
any chance you'd know if she was A or B pass???

  • Registered Users Posts: 38 azrael99

I would say anyone who was in the delay batch was a B but thats just a guess from me. Would imagine if she was an A she would have been in the first batch

sorry, i'm getting even more confused now --i thought the "first batch" was the people who had AC dates in Dec/Jan....and "delayed batch" was for those had AC date feb onwards??? and then each of these groups was graded.....??????

  • Registered Users Posts: 38 azrael99

I dont think so because my AC date was 3 December but i got a grade B and got a delay email so i presumed anyone who scored less than an A got a delayed email but could be wrong

ahh!!! thankyou so much for clarifying that! that is how i initially expected it to be. makes much more sense!

Remember from the start and the joinpsni website it'll be phased candidates due to merit.
So obviously they first group in the depot will be A or A* and rhen high Bs etc
By now they are bound to know how many people they will be highering so hence why some 68% ers have vetting forms.
Remember this process will likely last into next year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,262 ✭✭✭DesertCreat_15

If they wanted to do that they should have made it into two groups as with the A's, B* and B's ! Whats the point in passing the whole group of B's on to the PSNI if they aren't even going to consider them?

Anyway, if theres one thing I hate, it's speculation !

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 380 ✭✭vickmackey

I just wasn't sure how some people had done physicals so early on, when there was large number sent delayed AC results, some of whom posted that they had As - still a bit confused.com - but will wait as long as needed. Just happy I'm in that position!

I'm happy for the post man to take his time! We know we've passed so now I'm grateful for a little more time to get as fit as poss, especially for push/pull!

Never said they won't consider them.
There will be fails at pca and medical as youve seen already and at vetting. Meaning low bs habe just as much of a chance.

We have all been passed and have entered the merit pool. Wether you're like me through medical pca etc or someone waiting on recieving vetting forms.
We are all in with a chance of a job.

I was in the delay batch and I'd an A* so there are exceptions though we delayed or not we still all passed and all still have a chance of getting in Hotel G :)

Now for a random one...anyone heard of the high potential scheme?

think its for those showing an aptitude for specialist skills....or wanting to focus on certain career path....there was something on the joinpsni website (not much though)...good to see someone aiming high already!;)

If you look at the email which was sent to all successful candidates from the AC it says at the bottom that it is a provisional offer of employment as long as you can pass the next 5 stages so to me that would say that if you got an email that you passed there isn't a chance that you will not be even considered, you will get vetting papers and a date for the PCA but they are obviously just running this in batches, I think if you got an email to say you passed the AC then you have a chance at the job as long as you pass the 5 stages the PSNI require. We are simply speculating at the moment and i'm not sure its necessarily a good thing.

    Unfortunately this isn't true. The exact wording is;

'in order to be eligible for an offer of appointment, you must successfully complete the 5 stages above and be within the appointable band to meet the PSNI requirement from this competition (currently expected to be a maximum of 378)'

  • Registered Users Posts: 38 azrael99

Well hopefully having a high B will put us within the appointable band, fingers crossed. Good luck everybody :)

Agreed. Be nice to know how may are in the pool though. Could be disheartening at the same time so probably better of not knowing. Better to stay positive!

  • Registered Users Posts: 38 azrael99

I'm staying positive and looking at it the same way as another poster, this just means we have more time to get fit for the PCA and hopefully fingers crossed we will be called up to do so.

Does anyone know how many people got through to the AC in total?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 518 ✭✭✭oztop1234

I'd love to know the figure!

I'm just going to keep training and hoping! Rumour on the waiting thread that calls may start going out to those who have been through everything so our forms and PCA may start when they start in GV.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38 azrael99

Yeah I would imagine that they would probably have to wait until people are at least started GV because otherwise the numbers would be huge going through GV. I know a guy who was in the first batch and he did medical on Tuesday, now he is just waiting to hear a start date so might not be too long we have to wait :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 518 ✭✭✭oztop1234

Calls have started on the waiting thread!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 380 ✭✭vickmackey

Brilliant news for them (and hopefully us). still feel sick with envy tho :-(
