at last some sense without having to mention any other team in the process.

    Question:
Do you reckon the 'Chosen One' banner was a club issue banner rather than a fan based one?
The reason for the question is why have stewards protect it then?

or are the club worried about the potential negative P.R it coming down might cause?
It is a 'fan' banner - but SEF are very much in bed with the club and don't do/say anything the club don't agree with. So the banner going up was all them, and they won't take it down without the club allowing it - and the club will protect that banner to protect Moyes.

Liverpool had no PR issues this year because they had no PR issues this year.
They are usually a laughing stock when they do.

Ya need to read things more carefully. :o

The "Chosen One" banner should have been quietly ditched weeks ago, with a small statement saying they had a new banner to support the team. The longer it stays up, the worse it will be when it comes down.

As for becoming "laughing stocks"...hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we already are...

at the end of the day its only a banner but has been turned into some sort of vehicle that will show the club how pissed off the fans are with Moyes.

plenty more ways of doing that but a fly-by aint one.

I'm thinking back over the last couple of years and was there constant posts about Liverpool in here that weren't instigated by Liverpool fans? I've only caught onto it as I only really started sporadically reading their thread the last month or so but there have actually been posts in there discussing posts/posters in this thread where unless the person happens to read their thread they won't be able to respond. I seriously don't remember that shìt happening in here, does anyone else?

I remember United fans very much doing similar too. I could go into detail, but given my position, I can't :)

Name a few that would be getting as much attention as this is.

revenge is too strong a word.

look FFS I am sure Liverpool's struggles broke many a smile on many a UTD fans face over the past few years, yea?

now its Liverpools fans turn to mock and banter (for the time that we have) and I aint for one fúcking minute going to apologise for it.

but its always the one or two sensitive souls that have issue.

the majority of Utd fans I know (and on here) get on with it.

Whos the sensitive souls? Certainly not me. You can check my posting history if you want. I`ve said many a time we have to suck it up and if theshoe was on the other foot we`d be revelling in Liverpools misfortune.

I just find it kinda weird and surprising that people have lifted quotes from here and stuck them in the Liverpool thread. Kinda sneaky and a bit sad.

Moyes should get on to all the Wags and ask them to deprive them of sex until their performances improve. We'll be back in the top 4 in no time and Bayern won't know what hit them.

I blame SEF for all of this.

    - Putting the cringey banner up in the first place. It was an utterly horrendous idea.
    - Refusing to take it down, when polls show the majority of fans want it removed. Replace it with one supporting the team.
    - This whole plane thing relates directly back to their stubbornness. From reading the statement, the sentiment behind it is to show that not all United fans are no longer blindly behind the manager.

Also, at the first hint of an anti Moyes banner inside the ground, the stewards would be onto it like homing missiles.

'The Chosen One' should never have gone up in my opinion...but it should have been taken down on the QT off the back of a win, write up some story about replacing it with something else...all about the team yada yada, Moyes himself could have chimed in saying something like "I want to earn my banner on the Stretford End and we're in this together so I asked for it to be replaced with a team banner"....There. Job done.

Instead we have this farcical situation where fans are bickering among themselves over a f£ckin banner, it could all have been so easily avoided.

This from one who is still giving Moyes a chance but moving steadliy closer to the fence....

If the to and fro banter /slagging goes on in the real world nobody bats an eyelid. Usually gets a fcuk off and a smile from me to my Utd supporting mates and vice versa.

On here though it's different as you can't do that as you'll get a ban! and rightly so.

It is only a MINORITY of fans though.

My big worry with the banner is this is how it's gonna come across that way and some fans will boo it and chant support for the clueless one simply out of distaste for the idea. Could do more harm than good and galvanise him.

A rumour is all I'd bet, rumours started about the class of '92 fronting a buyout but that turned out to be just them minus Beckham buying Salford City.

The plane is the stupidest idea I've ever heard of for a protest.

Also the time for protest isn't now. I want Moyes gone but I also would quite like to do well against Bayern. So give Moyes until the end of the season. That way he sets down a good marker for the next manager. He will have had a full season in charge, with his own staff, had two transfer windows and a run in all cup competitions. You can't then say that he wasn't given a fair crack at the job. Once the season is done forget about Alex Ferguson and what he could achieve with the team, Moyes' performance becomes the new, current, standard and a new manager should be found that can get us back to near the Ferguson level.

My fears are still that Moyes will make it past the summer and in that time sell Nani, Kagawa and Hernandez bringing in God knows who. So as long as the powers that be see sense and remove him at the end of the season I have no problem supporting him until then, and I would hope most of the fans would be the same.

You never know maybe in the remaining games she might have a Eureka! moment and actually get us playing some football. However he'll probably just prove even further that's he's not the man for the job. So lets give him until the end of the season before going our separate ways.

Is this plane a definite or just a rumour? I don't think it's going to happen to be honest.

I'm assuming he will have to include himself then ;)

    Very much seperate stories.

I don't think it will actually happen, for a number of reasons, but I do believe there is far more to the story than some crossed wires or lies.

The people behind it said it will fly over 5 mins before kickoff, then again for the first 10 mins - so it seems certain.

Will just result in more vocal support for Moyes though - utterly counter productive.

Could there be a case to say, let Moyes continue on as manager for another season and then when a better manager comes in, he can be compared more to Moyes than Ferguson. Every manager of Man Utd for the rest of its history will be compared to Ferguson but in the medium term, having a few crap years of Moyes could be good for the next manager. If a manager comes in this summer, he is still going to be Fergusons replacement. Moyes wasnt there long enough to say that he new manager is taking over from him.

So in 25 years time when Moyes retires as one of our greatest ever managers, will the Moyes Out plane be the equivalent of the Ta-Ra Fergie banner? :D
