Scudamore said: ‘It’s a double-edged sword. When your most popular club isn’t doing as well, that costs you interest and audience in some places.

'There’s lots of fans around the world who wish Manchester United were winning it again,’ he added. ‘But you have to balance that off against putting on a competition.’

I wonder is Scudamore in the "chosen one" or "wrong 'un" camp! :pac:
Moyes and his players put on a United front to support Fletcher at colitis charity event

I'm thinking back over the last couple of years and was there constant posts about Liverpool in here that weren't instigated by Liverpool fans? I've only caught onto it as I only really started sporadically reading their thread the last month or so but there have actually been posts in there discussing posts/posters in this thread where unless the person happens to read their thread they won't be able to respond. I seriously don't remember that shìt happening in here, does anyone else?

    Cross thread banter?

In boards you don't get notification if someone quotes your post, so what's the point in quoting the post in other thread and making fun of it? At least if someone did that, they could simply quote and reply in that thread itself.

    Cross thread banter? Pfff..

Really? You feel that strong about it?

Yes there are a couple of numpties on every club thread, but they are well know after a couple of days of being around these woods, and the mods have a good grasp of things.

match threads are great craic also, but yes can get tedious by those who's only goal is to bring them down - apart from that yes, its all just banter.

I didn't mean to so I edited it before I saw your post.

Not sure how anyone quoting posts from one thread to another is banter when the person who made the post can't even see and reply.

I've mentioned it a couple of times already, it's cowardly and should really have something in the charter about it.
It's not banter, it's just bitching.
You should keep it to yourself if you're not prepared to call somebody out in person.

This.season has been bad, and our club is in a very precarious position, but we will never be as cringe worthy and self absorbed as Liverpool fans even if we spend the next 50 seasons in mid table, and I think the same would go for 99% of other clubs fans also.

Would you prefer that Liverpool fans post about other clubs more? United maybe?

I'd say you two can paint your homes in minutes with that big brush in your possession.

    'You's lot'

    generalise much?

its not a big leap to see what my post was about now is it?

Well for starters I didn't say "you's lot" that doesn't make any sense but yeah I an generalising, so what?

Take a look in the Liverpool thread and see how many posts in the last day are about Liverpool...

Don't take everything so literal, there's nothing wrong with a bit of generalisation, I'm not going to work out percentages just for you.

And that little pac man at the end was there to signify a bit of jest or this "banter" you're apparently fond of but only seems to work one way with you

This season has been horrific to say the least so we'll all be happy to see it end.

Liverpool have done well this season after they missed out (ahem) on the Europa league. They will need to keep the momentum going in.a.much busier season next term. But they are a big club who have been away from the top.a little too long to be fair, but their fans have no grounds to be abusing unites fans about getting touchy about their clubs misfortunes given their own fans chequered history in this regard.

In relation to Liverpool fans there were some here giving a lot of abuse to Liverpool fans for hounding Hodgens and wanting him out as quick as Uts fans wanted Moyes out. Saying you have to give a manager time and they find it quite amusing now the same people are quick to get rick of a manager and not give him time. It is a bit of banter between fans. Liverpool and doing great and Utd are not. It has been the other way for quite a long time.

We need this season to end ASAP, get Moyes out the door and really evaluate the club from top to bottom. Because there have been some farcical/embarrassing/disgraceful moments this season - from the season ticket holders being politely reminded after being smashed in Greece that they have to buy a return leg ticket to Moyes using words to the effect of aspiring to be like City.

I may dislike (putting it mildly) Liverpool and a part of their fanbase, but they haven't half gone about things the right way this season, PR wise and otherwise, and it starts with the likes of JW Henry.

    duh

Liverpool had no PR issues this year because they had no PR issues this year.
They are usually a laughing stock when they do.

This rumoured plane thing is utterly embarrassing.

Who remembers that big rant I made at the start of the season when things went, that regardless what happens, we need to ensure we don't turn into the laughing stock of the nation.

Well **** that, this is utterly embarrasing and the fans reponsible should be ashamed. There are plenty of constructive ways to bring to the attention of the club your dis satisfaction, this just piles pressure and frictions at a point where we are already looking unstable.

Moyes could really help himself here by starting to make some big calls and brave decisions, something I kept mentioning this year but he just hasn't done it. I thought him withdrawing RVP from West Brom might have been it, but it wasn't.

He hasn't said a scathing thing all year publicly about a team that has been pathetic, he hasn't dropped ANYONE to make a point. It's rubbish.

You know what, a big help would be if he had the banner taken down. And said that he's embarrased by it, and needs to earn a place on the stadium tiers. It would most definitely go down well, and would atleast put that stupid issue to bed.

Stretford End Flags are being absolutely torn asunder via social media, it just needs to come down.

at last some sense without having to mention any other team in the process.

    Question:
Do you reckon the 'Chosen One' banner was a club issue banner rather than a fan based one?
The reason for the question is why have stewards protect it then?

or are the club worried about the potential negative P.R it coming down might cause?

IMO - the fans need to start showing they do not support Moyes, if they do not support Moyes. The stubborn vocal backing of him purely in spite of expectations and media pressure (in some/a lot of case, but not all) isn't helping the club do what needs to be done, imo.

THey fall back on the support the United fans have been giving Moyes - such as the last minutes of the Liverpool game. Support the club and United - but that can be seperated from supporting David Moyes. This banner is one way of doing that - can cheer on the players, while showing a lack of support for the manager.

What is going to happen is the plane will be greeted by thousands of United fans singing for Moyes - mostly out of spite for the plane, rather than genuine support of Moyes, imo. But the club will fall back on the vocal support he is given, genuine or not.
