Duncan Castles with another "world exclusive" by the looks of things later.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,575 ✭✭✭NTMK

Valdes out of the world cup squad, will DDG get a call up? He would make the most sense, get him used to the international set up as the other keepers are all coming towards the end of their careers.

Casillas, Lopez and Reina will be the 3 probably. and i wouldnt say any of them are near the end of their careers

few years left but all are 32/33 ,would it not make more sense to bring a young keeper as 3rd choice.Unlikely to get any game time but would get plenty of experience.

    Reliable?

    @mikekeeganmen
There's also an exclusive that will interest #mufc fans - but it's not about David Moyes...

Those last six words are a mood killer.

    Kit deal?

they all (bar injuries) could do 2 more WC
Del Bosque wont change it up and Lopez was 4th choice the last time valdes was out so id highly doubt de gea gets called up

    Whats going on??

Probably not much. I can't remember MEN ever breaking big news on United, or anything approaching big news.

Probably a 10 year contract for Young, Valencia and Cleverly and Giggs to play on for 3 more years.

In the last five minutes, I've seen reports that the board want Moyes gone AND the board are backing Moyes no matter what.

Ignore these "in the know" Twitter accounts, small media outlets...they want followers and readers. If there was big big news, they'd announce it asap, not drag people along with promises that never come to fruition.

Possibly a pre-contract agreement signed with a player announced just to calm fans fears?

I can nearly guarantee there'll be no real news, at least based on provable fact. At best, we'll get some "Looking to sign, but plans can change" nonsense.

That's what I thought too. The Glazers to leak info of a transfer to keep the peasants distracted.

Realistically how many players are people thinking will come in over the summer, Moyes or no Moyes?? with Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand, Hernandez, Giggs all likely to be gone we could see a massive turnover of players.

    RVP renewal ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,924 ✭✭✭Whatsisname

Announcing a transfer or anything at 6am would just be strange. I'd assume its something business related tbh.

possibly 4 before the world cup with one or 2 after imo

likely to be 4 total though and all first team quality

That was almost my exact thinking too - I think we'll sign 5 with the world cup being used to see other potential buys. I think the kitty could be just be completely blown open for our standards....

as far as i know united released the info about rooneys contract extension at 5 or 6 am in the morning aswell , looking for stock market reaction in my opinion which is bad business

    Whats going on??

When is the last time M.E.N ever broke a piece of MUFC news? Does it sound plausible that someone has told the person who runs that Twitter account: "Hey, we're breaking news about United, oh, by the way, it's nothing Moyes related or a kit deal"

Sounds like complete rubbish. As usual with Twitter, only trust a known credible source and ignore all the other dross.

I would love to be wrong about this.

I think Graeme Souness is right. There is no quick fix to this.

People better get ready for another average season next year. Maybe Top 4 but that is all.

Even if Moyes goes damage has been done. Players aint suddenly just going to bang in goals and play outstanding overnight.

People dont want to accept they are wrong. They dont want to hear that we have passengers. We do. We have done for 3-4 seasons.

Forget about Moyes here for a second....Mitch and Homer were two of the more vocal people here about our lack of transfer me not much better till some of ye tried calm me down last summer.

The sad reality is we were right now. Moyes has created a mess, but that mess was there to be ****ed about too and it has.

You have to remember this club got knocked out at group stage in 11/12 and collapsed last season in CL 2nd round.

The club has been put itself in the back foot the past few years.

We might have to take another step back before we take 2 forward. I think a lot of fans aint prepared for that.

Even if Fergie was in charge the amount of players he would need in summer is unacceptable.

Some have been saying this for couple of years but some wont listen.

Some people think a magic wand can just make things better. Fools!

    Yes, that sounds very realistic.

United released information about Rooney's contract to the NYSE at 5 or 6am UK time, because the NYSE is open at 12am or 1am local time.

Telegraph tomorrow has the players about to revolt against Moyes, with some talk that they'll appeal to the board for him to be sacked.

Evra as the spokesman no doubt :P

Tbh Kew I don't know any United fans who are happy with our transfer dealings over the past few years - we all knew we were being static in the transfer market and the rest were pulling away in terms of strength and depth...

... I don't know what age you are Kew but i'm 23 so I literally have never witnessed an unsuccessful United, I'm very much prepared for waiting the long haul to get back to the top. Under Ferguson trophies were won on an industrial scale, the conveyor belt just never stopped.

Jamie Carragher said and I agree with him that when a club is down in the dumps it is never as bad as it seems - It might take a few seasons and a few quality players in we'll be back competing... of that I have no doubt.
