Just to get into the mood

    U-N-I-T-E-D
United are the team for me
With A knick knack paddy whack give adog a bone
Why dont City f*ck off home

    The city is yours,
    the city is yours….
    20000 empty seats,
    are you ****ing sure!?

    If you come from Manchester
You’re sure to be a blue,
    Moston, Collyhurst, Salford, Ancoats too,
And if you think that this is true you’re nothing but a fool,
Cos in the town of Manchester
    Man United rule
Tra la la laaaaa we all hate City
Tra la la la la la la la

Love it - you and Doc have me going now!!!

    The second verse is better:

And you can stuff your Bayern Munichs, Juventus, Ajax too,
There's only one colossal team, they play in laser blue,
They're gonna beat United, like once upon a time,
They're gonna conquer Europe, like they did in '69,
Tra la la laaaaa we all hate City
Tra la la la la la la la

    Great tune.

Would prefer not to, I really would but it looks inevitable now unfortunately.

Gonna be an easy win for City.

Couple of goals maybe, hopefully nothing worse.

Demichelis is a disaster of a player. If they play him, and with Rooney up front and Mata in behind, you'd have to fancy United to score. That makes for a bigger chance of a competitive game then I'd expect against any of the other top sides at the moment. But City should still be the comfortable favourites.

Game on, gentlemen. I've assembled the positivity dug out. Make yourselves at home.

its not really moyes team, let him build his own team and if its not working next season then its time to say goodbye but he at least needs the summer to move on Ferdinand, giggs, vidic and a few others and bring in his own players...

    Should? Implying some doubt?

Where you want to sit in the positivity dugout?

problem is we'll be two seasons behind chelsea / city by then
plus we'll have blown a significant transfer budget on moyes-type players by then
cut the line now, or ASAP..

... and people try to tell me he won't last until Christmas  - there's your proof there... Ferguson and Charlton will ensure it will happen.

**** all Fergie and Bobby can do with all the Yanks on the board.

C'mon you reds :D 2-1 United with a cheeky last minute penalty from Rooney will do nicely..

    ..although I'd settle for:

Yanks or no Yanks they will listen to SAF/Bobby IMO (If one of them came out questioning them it would be a PR disaster) .. if things are still out of sorts at Christmas they might act without the support of both but I think Moyes is safe until Christmas at least.

Sorry, but I'm afraid I've got some bad news.

    IPu9lxT.gif

Man United will likely lose tonight, undoing all the positiving brought on by doing the minimum against two weak and cowardly teams. All that pressure will be back on Moyes back within the week following losses to City and Bayern. Still, at least we can take comfort in the fact we should struggle past Villa.

I would love more "moyes type players"..... mata and tried to get Fabregas, and Toni Kross is the No1 target this summer...

The doubt is only about whether the bookies will give fair odds. Which they won't.

I'll stay on the negativity terrace thanks

I'm thinking this could be 3-2 to United. Rooney in injury time to set OT off

I can't understand where people are getting all the positivity from. I can't see anything other than a humiliation for United tonight. God I'd love to be wrong, but City by two or three goals seems pretty realistic.

haha just had a wonderful daydream there.

City go 2 nil up, United fight back to win 3-2 with a screamer in the final minutes.

Moyes doesn't celebrate, he just starts to irk a troll like smile as he slowly turns his head towards Pellegrini, and gently brings up two fingers. And starts to gently wag them back and forth

Don't know why it popped into my head, but it's making me laugh.

Well it started by identifying some pretty weak links in the City team, and then I think we all lost the run of ourselves a little.

But it feels good man

City are poor at the back and their strikers aren't scoring at the moment. But Dzeko always plays well against us for some reason, I don't personally rate him at all.

They'll destroy us in the middle no matter who we play there. Could we not just skip midfield altogether, put Fellaini on the edge of their box and let De Gea pick him out with every goal-kick. 6 at the back, 2 wing-backs, and Fellaini up top with Rooney.

I think I might try that later in FM14 and see if I can get a result against anyone.

    Opinions on the midfield/attack tonight?

    I reckon:

    Fellaini Carrick

    Valencia Mata Welbeck

    Rooney

Valencia/Welbeck are essentials defensively. Poor Shinji :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,638 ✭✭✭✭bangkok

Stopping David Silva will be key to beating city tonight, if he is not picked up when he drops into the space between striker and midfielder there could be trouble.....then again we have our own magician in Mata and tonight is the night he is going to score his first United goal...

I don't think Valencia will start, id say his eye is only coming ok last few days...

    Could we see....

    Fellaini Carrick

    Rooney Mata Kagawa

    Welbeck

New contract being rumored for Jones.

    http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/mar/25/manchester-united-phil-jones-contract-nemanja-vidic-rio-ferdinand?CMP=twt_gu

    Interesting bit in it,
Since breaking into the Blackburn Rovers's team in 2010 Jones has suffered 18 different injuries of varying degree, with 16 of those coming at United, dating from December 2011.

Seriously needs to cut out the kamikaze sh!t he does a lot of the time. All well and good being brave in the tackle but give yourself a bit of protection.

City -1 is the only bet I would be doing..... but I won't do it. Don't bet against my own team.

I think he has to only play centre-back for this reason. He can still launch the odd bone cruncher when he feels like it, but it stops him doing it every five minutes like he does when in midfield and full-back.
