The number of signings required will depend on whether or not we're in the Europa League...if we have no European soccer we can get away with less quantity and therefore invest more in quality.

    i cant agree with that
to become 'contenders' for the premiership we still need at least 5 top players
    thats almost 200m imo

Rumour that Ferdinand and Evra will both start tonight.

Not much choice with Rio given injuries.

    Evra annoys me...

Is nani working on his guns / karate these days?
Great athlete that fella - shame he has little interest in MUFC / football in general

RvP has been declared uninterested in football for 4-6 weeks...

That's worth probably 3 goals to citeh
    Moyes should be nervous

I don't disagree... 5 is a long way from 8 or 10 which I saw further up the thread though.

5 would actually only just about cover outgoings...it's going to be a mental summer.

Buttner is no better than Evra, and i'd still prefer Rio over Carrick at CB.

Bet365 are offering 23/20 on City to win. That sounds like free money to me, shame I can't bet against United.

Going to be interesting to see how Moyes will approach the game tonight, will we see a return to the cautious play or will he let the team play like they did on Saturday and let them play as how they saw it,

I know they will have to close down the space when City have the ball and try and stop City playing but its when the team has the ball I would like to see them have a go at City and not spend the night just passing the ball around in front of them without threatening to create a chance.

Depends on the team he picks I suppose, they will need someone in midfield with the ability to pick a pass and get things moving forward, if Fellaini and Carrick are both in there then it will be pass and pass and do nothing.

As i've said at least 74 times, I am a very optimistic person.
However, I can't see anything other than a very uncomfortable 90 minutes for us this evening. Hope to Jesus I'm wrong and that a good result will be forthcoming, and perhaps there is a big performance in the players...

Will always look forward to all United games, and will be supporting them as always but I reckon this place could be a den of misery from half nine on tonight.

hes not even a premiership player
i'd love to see someone like shamrock rovers taking a gamble with him
would perk up interest in the irl football league too

    Yes, that's right.

There are two standards of football: Premiership and Airtricity League.

Players doing well in the Primeira Liga are often lured away to Irish clubs, understandably so.

United winning and giving the Pool a chance at the title and at the same time costing all you supposed united fans the money you backed on City

If we go with Mata, Rooney and Kagawa, and they do anything of the sort of Saturday we have a good chance imo.

Kompany hasn't looked the best this season, and very much looked horrendous when being asked to stepup and mark someone in between the lines. Nothing more needs to be said about Demichelles, a stopgap until they find something permenant.

Zabaleta is a wonderful wingback, their left back position leaves alot to be desired.

Toure frequently abjects his defensive responsibilities.

Negredo on a barren spell and Dzeko being poison this season, there is alot that could play out in our favour. While I guess on paper it looks a City win, there is enough factors to lead me believe a United result.

Big night for Fellaini, who I think HAS to start. These were the games he should be shining in, big physical battles. About the only player we have that can control Toure, and he can win himself alot of fans with a combative performance tonight.

I'm genuinely excited for the match

@Kew, want me to pull you up that chair?

Gonna be an easy win for City.

Couple of goals maybe, hopefully nothing worse.

bebe earns about 12k a week not a chance an irish team could afford him and why would he even play here when he has an outside chance of going back to old Trafford and if not with united some other prem league team might take him

In fairness questioning the loyalty of fans hoping their team loses is hardly malarky

... and people try to tell me he won't last until Christmas  - there's your proof there... Ferguson and Charlton will ensure it will happen.
