Assuming you saved them on your pc it will just be a matter of sending them to the box again. Strange your getting a green screen, did you try install anything else maybe?

I've only got a Green Screen once, it was one of the plugins (I can't remember)! Image working really well for me!

Sound, I have them saved on my laptop alright.
I'll try re-flashing again tonight and will restore the EPG.

I didnt install anything extra.
The only change I tried to make was when I went into the wallpaper section to have a look around, the box hung in there and I had to reboot, but I think RTE player was already crashing before that.

Was in the bed last night and around 3am I was woken by voices downstairs. I sh1t myself. Turns out I had put the box in standby, but forgotten to put the TV in standby. The box had just powered itself on.

Has this ever happened to anyone else, the box powering itself on from standby?

Yep happened to me twice the other night. Thought I had done something wrong, are you on the tech guys new one?

Most likely autobouquets or crossepg woke the box up to do its daily update. Just remember to turn off the TV and you'll have a good night's sleep!

Think I had set the TV to wake when the box was powered on cause I definitely didn't leave the TV on, reading a previous post are these boxes not able to record in standby?

I re-downloaded and reflashed TTGs latest image "new ttgs hyperion v3 image - rte player fixed"
I opened RTE player and selected latest episodes and it green screened as follows (the same message since before I reinstalled the image.
Any ideas? it does mention name resolution but I am using DHCP.

- 1 thing I am thinking is that I don't yet have a HDD connected as I am waiting on delivery.
Could that cause RTE player to crash?

- Also, how can I do a backup of the current settings I have, so should I need to reflash I can just use my own backup image, thus
ruling out the need to rescan for saorview, edit the remote control settings and restore the bouquets?

Don't think it's the lack of hard drive as I tested it just there without a hard drive and it still worked fine for me.

To do a complete backup use the upgrade plugin in spark, should be an option there to backup. That will copy your entire image which you would be able to reload if you needed to.

Tested a recording in standby just now and I worked fine so I'm not sure why it wouldn't work for others.

Thanks for all the info and the great image.

The rte player issue is not really a problem for me as I wouldn't use it much anyway. I just hope there is not an underlying hw issue with my box seeing as it is appears to be working for everyone else.
I must test out TS media to see if it is still causing the box to hang since reflashing the image.

I havnt tried recording in standby yet, I managed to sort my cabling problem as it was only the f connection going in to the lnb was not done right, I tried recording two sats while watching the terrestial and the playback was a bit dodgy on the two recordings, my 500gig hard drive is years old and was seriously fragmented so I left it to defrag over night and will try out more recordings when I get home

A lot of functions in my TTG image are causing the box to green screen.

For example, PK Team Blue Panel -> System will cause a green screen every time

I am wondering if it's due to the version Spark I am running and/or the version of E2 upgrade.

In on Spark 1.2.70 not sure what version of E2 upgrade I am running at the moment as I don't have access to my PC.

Can anyone running TTGs image successfully tell me what version of Spark and E2 they are running?

I'm surprised you're getting green screens, this is the most stable image I have used to date. My spark is 1.2.71 not sure what E2 upgrade I'm using.

Silly question, have you tried downloading a different copy of TechGuys image? Like most people I find it's the most stable yet which makes me think something is corrupted in your copy.

Guys i am trying to get upgrade plugin to work without sucess. Tryed them ali i could find. So Any advice or should i give up? When i press on plugin nothing happens, or it Just starts and then nothing.

You start the plugin, then press red to show OSD, then navigate and show it where the enigma files are stored, then press red again to save, then red to install

It's a good question but I downloaded the "new ttgs hyperion v3 image - rte player fixed" twice and extracted the contents of the zip into a different location to rule out an issue with the download.

I just flashed the image again and did not tune in Saorview channels this time to rule a problem with anything I might have done but RTE player green screens.

Maybe I should try a stable TTG image previous to the RTE player fixed one?
Anyone have a link?

I actually deleted it from Dropbox thinking nobody would need it anymore, someone here is bound to have a copy though. If anyone does have a copy of the old one could they PM it to me and I'll add it to the Dropbox.

Hyperion v4 is due out this month too so maybe that fix your problems.

Hyperion v4 is due out this month too so maybe that fix your problems.

No worries. My Sky has another 10 days before it runs out.

I've spent too much time trying to get the box running so far so I'm going to power off the box and work on it again when the the Sky subscription runs out.
Hopefully by then there will be an updated image somewhere that I could try.
I just hope its not faulty.

You don't say what image you're running but I would be 100% confident that it can't be mine. I am always recording stuff via the timer and many a time, the box has been off, in Standby. I have HDMI-CEC running and it's configured to turn the box off when the TV is turned off.

Assuming again that this is not my image, it would appear the HDMI-CEC plugin is turned On and that it's set to wake the TV when the box is turned On and so, the running of AutoBouquets and CrossEPG overnight will of course wake up the TV. An unattended Timer recording will NOT do this

It would also matter greatly if the channels being recorded were HD rather than SD. HD record a huge amount of data so a hard disk would be going like the clappers.

Just to clarify a few bits from this - Spark and E2 are COMPLETELY separate. A completely corrupted Spark would still allow E2 to run without issue - it's like a dual booting PC with Windows and Linux

TTG's image IS an E2 image so anyone running his image will have the same base kernel as you and in theory, have the same result. However, people have different hardware and this looks like a real cause of anomalies.

Remove all the plugins in Spark and reinstall the version from my link, Make sure you save it into the correct folder on your usb stick before installing it into your Spark booted box

If yor Sky Card hasn't already been digitally matched / paired with your Sky Box, then you can indeed. Get E2 pre-installed since you will have the necessary plugins should you want to try another image
