Eerily calm here in Monasterevin CO Kildare all of a sudden :eek: after being windy all morning, not storm force or anything just your usual wind of late.
Right now its unbelieveably calm,hard to imagine there is a storm raging southwest of me.

Have to head into Cork city centre for 3.30 for work...really not looking forward to having to drive in this, I only drive a Ford KA!

Terrifying here in south tipp - watching the slates lift off my tack room roof, now a gaping hole and not a damn thing I can do about it - stay safe people, never will I get excited about a storm again ........... too dangerous out there for words !!

Power gone in other parts of Waterford now. Damage to the roof of one of the schools. Some trees down around town. Lights flickering but still have power. Doesn't sound too bad where I am, but I'm fairly sheltered.

Gust of 64kt or 118km/h recorded at Waterford Airport in the last half hour. My station 88km/h still max for the day.

just keeps getting better - gust 48.4m/s or 94kts. Last time I saw a gust over 90kts was back in 1991

I think I might, the road in is not the most sheltered and my mum is hell bent against me going! Glad I didn't bother going into UCC today, I was meant to have a lecture at 2 but it was cancelled along with everything else.

Yeah I heard a tree fell by the Hurlers.

Kilmac and Lismore lost power,urlingford,CAshel also at times
