Eerily calm here in Monasterevin CO Kildare all of a sudden  after being windy all morning, not storm force or anything just your usual wind of late.
Right now its unbelieveably calm, hard to imagine there is a storm raging southwest of me.

Not joking when I say right now that my room is shaking.
My desktop pc and screen are wobbling left to right.

I live on the third floor/converted attic of a house.

Power gone in other parts of Waterford now. Damage to the roof of one of the schools. Some trees down around town. Lights flickering but still have power. Doesn't sound too bad where I am, but I'm fairly sheltered.

Approx. 100,000 without power at present. Haven't seen that many since 97'.

I think it was 200000 in the Jan 74 storm.

It is the top story now on Aertel, so they should finally give it some coverage on the news at 6.

I think I might, the road in is not the most sheltered and my mum is hell bent against me going! Glad I didn't bother going into UCC today, I was meant to have a lecture at 2 but it was cancelled along with everything else.

Yes should be easing around there now as the stronger winds transfer eastwards.
