Same as last time when I passed it. Practise the tests as much as you can and learn your answers for the interview off by heart!! Remember, you get the questions beforehand! You get a form to fill out with different scenarios you need to apply to your life experience then they grill you on it. And then a few extra questions thrown in to put you off. I try not to over prepare though, just relax and take it as it comes.

I have to respectfully disagree on this one. I think it absolutely counts. Firstly your competencies change. You can include college work. I know in some forensic courses that they train you for court. You can talk about all these things. You will know the court system, first responding officers, evident preservation etc. These are all things that will stand to you and help you in the role. Yes you have to be able to communicate these things in the interview, but if you have training that will stand to you in the role then what better is there, then to talk about all those things. Doing the policing diploma might help you with job if its legit that is. It certainly would not hurt.

Well it was offered and I know 2 Gardai that did leave for the 3 years but were not sure if they would get paid or not. They do have a job to come back to aswel

results for stage 2 is in march, and the rest of the stuff you could give them a call and see what they could tell you, they plan the first class for around june/july i would say, since they did say "mid 2014"

Just a quick question , I am through to stage 2 but a friend is also through with only foundation Irish, he is worrying now that he hasnt met requirments, can anyone clarify does he need Irish?
