Madness in ballybeg tesco. Loads of DVDs reduced to like 50 cent upwards to €1.50.

Standout things I picked up were boardwalk empire first series boxset for 1.50,avengers bluray for €1, all those classic Disney films special blue ray editions for €1.50, hunger games special eiditon for 1.50 and toy story 3 for 50 cent. Well worth a look as lots still there but most of the top stuff went instantly as people standing there waiting.

You can price check the games in the locked boxes. Just make sure there's nothing in the way of the code.

    Oh wait....

Ever heard of comments made tongue-in-cheek? Or sarcasm?

I'm very impressed that you can exactly decipher the tone of my comments from the written word alone, most people struggle with this. You must be very clever.

You're in quite the argumentative mood today Soarer aren't you?

Even less than when I was out there.
Ink Cartidges going especially cheaply now, particularly on some brands. Down from a low 50cent to 13cent. Very little hp cartidges. Loads of Epson and Brother a few other brands too.

You're in quite the argumentative mood today Soarer aren't you?

    But they weren't made tongue-in-cheek.
You said if you'd been in the mood for an argument you'd have called his line manager. Then you said you wouldn't want anyone to lose their job.
So if you had been in the mood for an argument and called his manager, what outcome would you have expected? What if the chap lost his job because you couldn't take a joke?
You also mentioned that the place was busy in the lead up to Christmas. Well you were only there for a few minutes. He was probably in there since that morning, and was still courteous enough to help you with your query. How do you know that 5 minutes before you asked him where the checker was, somebody else didn't ask him the same question to which he replied "it's not working", to which they replied "I didn't ask if it was working, I asked where it was."

And I'm not being argumentative at all. All this came about because someone mentioned that most checkers aren't working, and you used that as an excuse to have a pop at a chap from an incident that happened over a month ago.
It was a bloody joke. But obviously a person that thinks walking from one end of Tescos to the other is "several kilometers" doesn't get it.

I've said my piece. Back on-topic.

People generally don't go shops to end up being the butt of one of the shop assistant's jokes. I wouldn't have reported the guy myself but I would have thought he was being an awful arsehole myself.

Anyone been in Wilton today? I'll be out there later, wondering if it's worth my while to pop in and have a quick nose about.

For someone who's claiming they're not being argumentative, you're being very argumentative.

I remain incredibly impressed however with your ability to mind read and know exactly what I mean. The US Secret Service would pay you handsomely for your special powers.

As for what I would have wanted - I would have wanted to be treated as a customer and with some basic respect. Sending me out of my way for nothing other than a cheap laugh at my expense is not what I expect when I do my groceries. I wouldn't want him fired, but equally I would like someone to explain to him that this is not how to engage with customers.

I voluntarily told the story as even I can see the humour in it to a point. Were it in a sitcom or a tv show, i'd prob laugh, are you seriously telling me you find it acceptable for him to do what he did in a real life context?
? Do you think Tesco would find it funny?
I worked in some pretty crappy customer facing roles when I was in secondary school and Uni. I encountered some really rude and obnoxious customers I my day but I just smiled politely and helped them as best as I could. If I wanted to curse a customer I did it internally or bitched about them to colleagues after they had left. I wasn't rude or smart with this guy in Tesco, I politely asked him a question and got the run around as a reward for same.

Finally, you seem to have a lot of free time to continue this? I don't so won't be posting again on it.

    Bye!

With regards to games and dvds, I was there yesterday and all they had was Gears 3, MW2 and Monsters Inc in a rack, all €5. They had some Christmas stuff in another rack that I didn't look at.

Went on a Southside meander today and found different prices in 3 different Tesco for the same items, DVD called Prime something in Dundrum €2, Nutgrove €1, Stillorgan 30c!

Loads of games and DVD's in Stillorgan, Nutgrove & Dundrum.
Prices in Dundrum were much higher for DVD's, most around €5 or €7 each.

Stillorgan had 3 crates full of films & Games, walking out of the door at €2 and €1.
Not much else there apart from Apple chargers down from €20 to €5.

Nutgrove had a load of headphones for €20, Philips charges all €10 with 4 AA batteries.
