Loaded ChampionC's latest image, still no joy with terrestrial, I am only getting RTE1 and RTE News Now! Damn!

I tried out ChampionC's latest image ,Saorview channels working fine for me ,no issues.
Coolepg working fine too,no green screen when pressing menu.

Image seems nice and smooth ,very responsive on Saorview channels unlike Hyperion which is sluggish.

Aertel seems to be in Russian though, and I had the same issues when recording 2 channels and watching a third as with Hyperion, the picture started to break up.
RTE Player seemed to be stuttering badly too.IPTV channels loaded quicker than Hyperion 3 .

Is there a PLi-HD skin for Ar-P as I prefer the look of that .

If you had terrestrial channels working on another image, take a copy of a file called lamedb (in etc/enigma2 )
This contains your scan details for both terrestrial and satellite. I use this as a shortcut when installing an image. It must be installed while the box is booting or the system will over-write it.

Still not working for me, I replaced the file while it was booting. Did you have the saorview problem before and this fixed it or have both saorview muxes always worked for you?

I'm considering upgrading from my Alien 2 (which has proved extremely buggy for me despite trying multiple images). What's the next step up from this box that'll run the Dreambox software...or am I looking at getting a DB itself?

A Vu+ Ultimo or Gigablue Quad, but they are a lot more expensive. The Dreambox is 4 years old technology now, it's a lot slower than the Alien 2

I would assume you should start with the box booted, copy the file into /etc/enigma2/ and reboot the box immediately then by powering off and back on again (i.e. NOT using the Restart Menu item)

Difficult to watch abroad, as in expensive to have that bandwidth available .. roaming etc!

I was asking what you meant by Full Stream ...... how is it Full in comparison to a 'not so full' stream ..... I just did not understand what you meant by Full stream.

    No joy with that either.

Ok. But could I just setip a pi as a server and then have other devices as clients ?

You could, provided it was not expected to do any 'heavy' work such as re-encoding video or acting as a backend for tuners etc.

This might seem to be the most sensible thing for you
Why not just install XBMC on the other devices also? Takes 5 minutes to install & configure. They all have the VU+/Enigma2 backend plugin preinstalled, just need to point them at the Alien.

I also tried that but no improvement.

Its odd as it was working up until a few weeks ago ,not sure why it isnt working now .

That's very strange, I can't see why the RTE Player plugin wouldn't work for you when it does for me even after uploading the exact same files.

Are programs even populating for you in the plugin or is just not playing when you select a show? I've just checked the latest added program 'How Life Works' and it's playing fine.

Re-encoding is the main reason I was considering a Pi. If I'm abroad (an even on wifi), I cannot watch anything certainly in HD. So it would be perfect to have a simple pi doing this rather than a server / desktop running 24 x 7

@slevster those eircom pos routers are notoriously poor.

I ended up setting that router to bridge mode and sourced a decent gigabit router that could handle my network internally and allow me to configure it a little easier, did the same with the sky router now that I've moved ISP.

Not saying it doesn't work, but I found it to be unreliable for both internal and external networking.

Yeah. Like to blame the eircom router for lots things...eating the last biscuit in the pack, leaving the toilet seat up (never me!), resetting all the clocks in the house making me late for things, not putting the bin out in time, leaving the reusable shopping bags at home when out shopping.. lots of things! (but if I'll honest, its probably me that is the cause of the problem!)

    Thanks NUTZZ
Yes the programs are populating but when I go to play it ,it stays at 00:00

I am trying out AR-P now ,found Elgato the nicest looking skin and closest to PLI-HD which didnt work fully with AR-P ,the channel info bar was missing the right hand side info .
RTE Player works ,but the sound is garbled.

    Have you a DVB-T or DVB-T2 tuner ?
Seems to be an issue with the T2 tuners.

DVB-T according to the service info menu. Seems to only be a openar-p problem though, its the only image I've had the problem with anyway.

I never had the scan problem but used this method as a shortcut when installing a new image.

Setup image as normal. Using Filezilla try to copy lamedb into etc/enigma2. You will get the "are you sure?" over-write warning. At this stage reboot the box using the onscreen menu. When the box powers down hit OK on filezilla. It will try to send file and will as soon as the box is talking to it again.
I do the same to over-write the timer file also if I have a custom one set up.

Didn't work either. I give up, well in good if somebody finds a fix but I'll head back to Hv3 till then,

I've set the box to default to aac3 because otherwise it defaults to the MPEG nar channel which is a lot better sound but on some channels is narrative. Is there a way to get MPEG sound without the narrative? I've got Hyperion v3 installed. Thanks

I am having a few issues with my hyperion v3 image, I am just wondering if anyone else has the same problems or knows of a fix.

1.) When playing back some downloads mainly .avi files the picture keeps breaking up.

2.) If I pause something I am watching 2 or 3 times the box hangs and I have to switch it off at the back and reboot.

3.) I can't fast forward or rewind (I might need to map the buttons only thought of it as I typed)

    MENU>SETUP>SYSTEM>AUTO LANGUAGE SELECTION>PREFER AC3=YES
    should do it.

I'm still using Hyperion 2 (but will probably upgrade to latest ARP in the next week or so), but I do experience (2) and (3). I also experienced it when I was on HDMU a few months back.

There's a workaround to rewind or fast forward. Basically, if you keep pressing the >> or << buttons for a few seconds, a box called "time skip" or something like that will appear on screen. You can enter with the remote the number of minutes (forward or backward) to skip. This usually works very well, but of course it's not as handy as a a real RW/FF functionality.

I never pause the videos because they can make the box to crash or become unresponsive. What I do is to just leave the movie running, go to the toilet, get a beer, answer the phone (etc.) and when I'm ready to go back watching the film, I just use the "time skip" function to go back where I was in the film.

I get all 3 of these issues, some video formats are worse than others I think for breakup.

Maybe this is not the right answer but the number buttons on the remote are used for skipping backwards and forwards.

    123
    456
    789

The 1 and 3 buttons skip back and forward 30 secs.
The 4 and six do 1 min jumps and the 7 and 9 buttons do 5 min skips.

These can all be changed to whatever times you want. I changed the 7 and 9 to 4 mins as its the approx length of most ad breaks.

    Hope this helps.

In the Hyperion 3 image, in the PKTbluepanel, there is a keymapper, where the functions of the red, green, yellow and blue buttons can be switched. There is an option to switch the button function to "user defined" . Does anyone know how to define this?
And this may be a silly question - I want to uninstall a plugin which I loaded through filezilla. Is it a simple matter of removing the same files I transferred in? (want to remove multiquickbutton plugin)

Put Champion's latest AR-P version on triplex. I'm seeing an issue that i seen before on the previous AR-P version. MP4 & AVI movies the audio quality is slightly off & it's out of sync. Everything is playing thru TV. The files play perfectly on Hyp V3 & also on older version of AR-P i was running several months ago. Not sure if some setting that i'm missing or something up with latest release.

How did you manage with the DTS and Dolby problem on the ouya? Also, did you use an IR Remote?

I'd think about getting one of these.

Last time I tried to run this my AA2 worked at a snails pace,

I have xbmc running on a pc , raspberry pi and ouya.

Using raspbmc on pi , menus can be slower but no problems with video playback. Ouya is my first choice. Quick and stable.

But whenever I use Aa2 as backend I get major lag.

Use an old sideloaded version and you should not have any sound issue. Loved XBMC on my ouya til decided it no longer liked its network interfaces (both wireless and Ethernet broke!)

I think it was this one I used:

Im using ThetechGuys latest back up.

Last night I was streaming a channel to my laptop using OpenWebif. While I was selecting the channel to stream, I clicked on another channel to zap and the box in the sitting room changed channel.

Only it zapped to the channel all I could hear was the sound and the picture was the SkyHD loading screen. I done a hard restart of the box and now I can get no picture at all on the box. The audio of each channel is working, but the picture is just the SKYHD screen.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I seem to be having issues uploading an E2 image, I have \ had previously had championcs image up there but the last couple of updates I've tried leave the box hanging in "boot" for over 10-15 minutes, but it still works fine if I boot into Spark - anyone any ideas on how to fix it? I've tried a couple of different images but they all seem to hang.

    What options do I have?
