Im using ThetechGuys latest back up.

Last night I was streaming a channel to my laptop using OpenWebif. While I was selecting the channel to stream, I clicked on another channel to zap and the box in the sitting room changed channel.

Only it zapped to the channel all I could hear was the sound and the picture was the SkyHD loading screen. I done a hard restart of the box and now I can get no picture at all on the box. The audio of each channel is working, but the picture is just the SKYHD screen.

Anyone know how to fix this?

When you say you did a hard reset did you do a restart or did you turn off/on at the switch at the back of the box?

I never had that problem but if it persists a reflash of the image would fix it if all else fails. Just make sure to do a backup of your channel lists if you've made any changes to mine. Also the autotimers.xml file is a handy one to keep a backup of to save you some time the next time you upgrade.

    Hi,

Can anybody recommend an app to stream from Enigma 2 to an iPad ?
Tried TVMobil for a few minutes but may have to leave my laptop running for that. There are a couple of paid apps that I was wondering about !

DreamMote Lite worked well for me, with SD content anyway.
Vu+ player worth a look also but I preferred DreamMote Lite.

My iPad is only a month old so don't want to jailbreak yet. Have an iPad 2 so might consider that !
Are there paid or free apps that people can recommend for my new iPad ?

I recently got a Alien 2+ triple tuner box.

I was going to put ChampionC's AR-P image on it, but saw there's issues playing media files.

Then I saw TheTechGuys Hyperion V3 image.
Looks like I'll go with the TheTechGuys image.

My question is, what's their relation to Enigma 2 ?
Are AR-P and Hyperion branches off Enigma 2, so they can share the same Enigma 2 plugins and the like.

Or are AR-P and Hyperion V3 mutually exclusive and have no common shared codebase ?

They share a common codebase, they are two different flavours of the same thing.
Try both and see which you prefer, neither is completely bug free but both give a relatively stable experience.
I use Hyperion3 simply because there is a bug that some of us are experiencing with the tuning of saorview and it works for me with Hyperion (this happens for some of us and we have not figured out why yet)

Plugins/Skins ets should be the same for both

    Guys.
I just spotted the questions about streaming from the box when you're abroad etc. If you're lucky and have fibre at home, it's just a matter of forwarding the ports and using a DynDNS account (paid-only anymore as they cut out the free option). Forward port 80 and 8001 of the Amiko and map to whatever ports suit for remote access. If you want to use DreamDroid or Vu+ with bother just do 80 -> 80 & 8001 -> 8001.
Unsure of bandwidth consumed but you can be sure its not a little.

There is another option if you want to transcode. There's a fair bit of messing to do but it's impressive when done.
Visit the follow link the Yosh. This guy has developed a PHP package which will take the webif stream from an enigma2 box and reencode it to one of 5 presets depending on network conditions. Instructions are included if you want to utilise your own *nix server but there is also a pre-packaged Ubuntu 12.04 server for VirtualBox which just needs the user to input the Amiko details. I played around with it a good bit. Spoke to the dev. He's a very helpful guy. Again, Static IPs or dynamic DNS accounts and port forwarding will enable you to stream from your box to anywhere, on cellular data or WiFi. Streaming to android devices needs a specific app SOL HLS player which allows HTTP streaming through the browser.
Definitely worth a try for those of you who are looking to transcode the video and watch live mobile streams of your own content

True. Thanks for that. I mentioned dyndns as a lot of provider routers allow dyndns accounts.

Is there a way to access the box from outside the network to set timers?

If you can get to your own IP (Fixed IP or using a dynamic DNS service) you should follow the instructions a couple of posts up, and forward port 80 of the box. this will allow you to use a browser or app to manage via the webif

Yes, you'll have to forward the web login port on your router to the local IP of the box (set it static)

    Hi all

I've just uploaded a new copy of my Image using the Latest 16 Jan OpenAR-P image. First of all, I haven't managed to get it to Green screen once all day.

There are a few differences to the image I had before now. Gone is OpenWebIf and they seem to have standardized on WebInterface. Oscam is upgraded to v9385 and I have added the Swap File as suggested by @JORY.

The big difference I noticed was that when doing a manual scan of Terrestrial, you specify the UHF Channel number !!! So maybe something has been re-worked.

So if anyone out there is really wishing that they can finally get AR-P to work for them, there is a real possibility now.

Finally, I have sucessfully played both AVI and MKV files !!!

Could this finally be the ultimate, all doing, version of Enigma2 for the ST7162 Based Boxes ?

    Great Image Champ.

I know it was mentioned before when putting the box into standby, it goes into deep standby which requires a power off and on. Is there a work around for this apart from not putting the box into standby?

I see Lavatronics are offering third party images for Enigma 2...

    Open AR-P
    HDMU
    PKT

    Has anybody tried them?

Looking at the size of them it must be the bare image so everything would need to be set up.

    Hi There ,

I have small issue ( Well a big enough one )

My box is stuck on the Amiko boot screen after working without issue for the last while

Is there something I can do to solve this ?

Not having this issue ,using same image ,box just goes into normal standby.

I finally managed to install PLI-HD skin on Open Ar-P ,used this file here
    https://bitbucket.org/arevet/enigma2-sh4-plugins/wiki/Home

Almost identical setup now to my Hyperion 3 layout .
RTE Player has no audio though .Apart from that ,all is good.

The Now and Next bug on Hyperion 3 with some skins has been fixed .
It was an issue with the EventName converter as identified by a clever user on another forum.
    The converter goes in \usr\lib\enigma2\python\Components\Converter

There is something on this image that just wont load on my Sab box for some reason , your first image over the xmas worked perfect for my box , the second one wouldnt and neither will this one , just gets stuck in boot

Cant get my head around what could be wrong ,

Im might just start with a blank canvas again ,

The plugins , are they just chipset reliant or differing models ,

For instance I just want an image which will work for me so I will put ,

    Cool TV Guide
    Oscam
    Cross EPG
    Auto Bouq
    Webinterfae

DO I need to put a plugin for mounting a hard drive or is there anything else people think I should have on it

Wierd. If I put the box into standby before going to bed and then power it back on the next day, it takes an age to respond. When it finally does, it boots up, a channel description is displayed on the front of the stb but nothing on the TV. I've to switch the stb off and on to get things back to normal.

If I put it in standby for a short amount of time and power back on its fine, just overnight it causes problems.

I'm not putting it into standby at all now to avoid the problem, would the power usage between having it on and in standby be anything to worry about?
