I am contemplating on buying bought 175euro worth of tires. And that's for only two of them :o And 2 hubs.. The hubs were cheaper.

Went into my local bike shop to get the bike fitted and a spoke repaired, needed new cleats

Ended up walking out with a new Ridley Orion with Look Keo Classic pedals

But hey, the cleats came with the pedals so job done!

Genuinely tried the 'I got the bike sprayed black because the white was getting too dirty"

Kind of worked until it was noticed that 'Ridley' wasnt the same word as 'Giant'

I played dead for about half an hour

    ...
I shall kill you with a spoon if that happens. But I doubt, from sping until last weekend I only used tubs. Last weekend I used the clinchers, got a flat

lol not a millionaire sir, just a very basic mazda 3. The tires is the only thing that is between you and the road, a bike can feel like a different one with quality tyres. It's important (for me) to have a nice ride.

So true. After you talked about the Veloflex tubs I got some of their clincher tyres. My god they are worth every penny. As they say quality costs.

Have them on the Colnago and the ride is sublime.

    So whatcha get anyway?

have a new bike on the way, and was thinking of moving away from the gp4000s that I've always used after seeing some vittorias on planet x at over 50% off.

Tell me more about the fancy tyre business....

To whet your appetite get Vittoria open corsa. The upgrade is veloflex. After that repeat with tubular. Then I suppose you get dugast.

After seven weeks I finally got my Zonda's tonight and to say I couldn't be happier is an understatement, it was well worth the wait for the price. I just need to get everything changed over and fitted by tomorrow night in time for a nice trip from Dublin -> Galway on Saturday :)

For anyone looking for prices cheaper than Wiggle, Chainreaction, etc, etc, look no further than http://www.swimcyclerun.com
You wont beat their prices and the guys are so accommodating, Brian, I thank you for arranging the pick up late in to the evening.
Its an Irish start up and I will be back to them in future

So these arrived. First impressions both the light and the battery are huge. Here is a pic comparing to my magicshine. It's also double the weight, 220gr for anyone who cares.

    nqBtnQA.jpg

This light is dangerous for city cycling. It's so ridiculously powerful even in low, It's going to blind the drivers in a split second. I tried what every thinking being would do and looked at it directly, it's no joke, I couldn't properly see for the next two mins. Also the beam is fairly widespreaded so I think it's ideal for (really) rural cycling and mtbing.

The battery is ridiculous big as well, I haven't tested it yet but it's at least twice the size of my magicshine.

I ll try tomorrow night to get a couple of pics to show how strong this thing is.

Are you the first cyclist whose light weighs more than their bike???

Yous can use Astra's new lights as a garda copter spotlight, I'm sure it has the same lumens rating by the looks of it!

Took delivery of these yesterday for the miserable winter days ahead.

    Cycleops alu rollers:

Within 10 minutes I went from thinking I'll never get the hang of them and wondering what the best way to get rid of them would be, to being able to bomb along and not freak out when I drifted a bit left or right. Resistance is decent enough as they are, but I'll definitely think about getting the add-on resistance unit in the future. At the moment 70-80rpm in 52-13 is a fairly decent workout, but is more of an exercise in endurance and stability than anything else. They're not too loud either, and the whirring noise ramps up in pitch nicely when you speed up :D It's like a quiet jet engine.

Would love a pair. Read a fantastic article in Roleur about FMB a while back.

Btw - you need to have kids - you clearly have way too much disposable income:-)
