Just over a week ago, ahead of our company charity cycle from Galway to Dublin (19th July) I've upgraded my wheels to Fulcrum Racing 5, new shimano 105 cassette and a sram chain. Now trying to justify a purchase of a new helmet... Catlike.

Away with work and no bike with me so I went out and bought a second hand one with little or no miles on it and one of the lads who works here said he'd buy it off me in a couple of months when I leave.

    Its a Felt F75 (58cm)
    Shimano 105 shifters
    Shimano 105 front derailleur
    Shimano Ultegra Rear derailleur
    Shimano SPD+ Pedals
    Shimano WH-R500 wheels
    Felt 15 606ial bars
    Easton EA30 headset

Got them to throw in a pair of shoes, well actually got them to drop the price on the bike and I got the shoe with that, Giro Apeckx

    Here's some pics...

In Portugal on hols ended up in Decathlon and left with a pair of bTwin carbon soles (road 9) Keo cleats and cleat covers - got to be worth a punt all in at less than 90 yoyos!

Figured I'd treat myself. Fit like a glove, so much more comfortable than my Diadora shoes, could spend all day in them. Only con is that the sole isn't as stiff as the carbon one in the Diadora, but on the plus side it means they're easy to walk in.

Been meaning to buy a reasonable light set of wheels but not wanting to spend to much money I got these for €128 inc P&P on eBay so plan now to build them onto a set of Stans which should keep it around below €400 with a weight of under 1,300 grams.

258 grams for the pair, mixed reviews online but seems they are supplied dry so will grease them up before use which should work.

Am I right in thinking that the extra battery pack you ordered has twice the capacity as the one that comes with the light?

Any info on run times for that light?

From previous experience with 5x cree leds I was seeing 3 hours on full power. I guess I could get around 6 to 8 hours with low power on the big battery. I ll update when I get them and try them out.

any chance you could post what the charger for the battery voltage output is when you get it?

Rims and spokes shipped this morning, Stans rims and DT revolution spokes so can't wait to get em built :):):) Just shy of €400 for the lot including spare spokes. Going to use existing cassette and skewers as I don't intend to change to often.

9800Lm - isn't that what they used in the movie 'The Core' to drill to the centre of the planet?

Bought Giant TCX 1 at the weekend from Martin Kearney.

    270957.jpg

    A few jobs to do:-
      Change toeclips for clipless (done)
[*]Swap cross tyres for slicks (done)
[*]Figure out how to attach some lights around the cross brake levers
[*]Sort out the low front mudguard (done)
[*]Find some place to hide it so the better half doesn't discover it (too late)

Short spin yesterday. Bike handles brilliantly & the 105 running gear is great. Not sure how well it climbs as I'm a bit out of form. But it descends like a demon - tracked perfectly through turns I'd normally hold back on. Straight as a die and able to take all the power I could supply.

Didn't exactly break the bank for these, but they arrived this morning.

My first cycling shoes (before fitting cleats in photo). Paired them with PD-R540 pedals and took them for a spin today - world of difference between these and my old toe clips. Shoe fit was thankfully spot on. No accidents yet :) though I only needed to get my foot out once in 45km.
