I have a USB key installed, it's mounted & I can record to it.

Don't know so, when I flashed the image all I did was mount the drive and it all worked straight away. Do you get a message when you press pause?

Just incase the hd isn't mounted properly try mounting it in pkt bluepanel->disk->HDD manager. Just press green when you get into this menu

I use the hdmu image and the tutorial from PogMoThoin. But out of the blue the coolepg has stopped working. I hit the red button and something happens big immediately flashes back to the channel. Any ideas?

That's how I mounted it initially, when I could record to the USB I thought all was good from a storage perspective.

Odd - pts started working after rebooting the green screen!!

Has anyone pointed their XBMC on another TV at their Alien2 and got the channels working in a different room over LAN?

Some odd sh!t going on.

After getting pts up and running on championc's image it seems sluggish at times to navigate around the menus.

I rebooted and it takes at least 2/3 mins to get a response from the box when I press menu on the remote.
The display on the box has a small icon saying 'FULL', checking the USB key only 2% has been used. The display also says it is recording?
When I press info on the channel I am on, it says it is recording?
When I change channel it seems to be recording any channel I change to?

I have also disabled pts and still the box says it's recording channels?

Any ideas lads - thanks.

Has anybody got a link to the Hyperion image? Championc's link appears to out of bandwidth. I've been using HDMU for a little bit but prefer the Hyperion setup. Thanks.

It's not out of bandwidth. Don't click on any of the 4 file names, but press the download button just to the right of the title.

Hyperion are good in that their upgrading of the software from within BluePanel actually WORKS !!

You need to turn the PermanentTimeShift ON in Plugins. I left it OFF by default.

speaking of these files. Do they need to be unzipped or the whole folder just copied to a usb stick as is,

I also get the "full" icon on Champs Hyperion image but it's a minor bug to worry about.
The sluggish menu response immediately after reboot seems to be caused by things like EPG reloading and autotimer running.

Is there an option to browse and select Saorview channels & satellite channels on the one folder in hyperion. Like in Spark - you can create your own FAV folder and add whatever channels you wish to it.

In hyperion you have Entertainmanet, News, Kids, Movies etc..... I'd like to be able to create a Saorview/Satellite folder and add my channels there (btw I am receiving free to air)

You can add the saorview channels to favourites alongside the sat channels and they will stay up to date.

It needs to be unzipped and then uImage and e2jffs2.img placed inside a folder called enigma2 on the USB to flash the image.

The IPK plugins in the folder have to be installed manually.

Go into provider, RTENL, then without selecting the channel press menu on it when it's highlighted. You will see an option to add service to bouquet. Do this for all the saorview channels you want to add. Then when you have all them in the favourites bouquet, go into the favourites bouquet and click menu and select enable move mode to put the saorview channels at the top if you want.

Install DreamBoxEdit on your PC. Download the Terrestrial and Satellite channels from the Box, do all the editing you want and upload the changed version back again

Also as championc said above you can use dreamboxEdit on your pc to organise/edit your favourites and delete all those useless providers.

Edit: One last thing, use the first favourites bouquet as the second one deletes it's contents when AutoBoquets plugin is run.

That appears to be a crossepg parameter and I don't think there is a prob with that. It's just the red button which tries to launch cool tv that doesn't work

There's a plugin called 'MultiQuickButton' that can map button presses on the Alien2 remote control to actions in enigma2 like HDMU. For instance I have it so pressing the 'epg' button on my remote opens up CoolTVGuide. Do you have that installed already, maybe it needs to be reconfigured?

However my problem has evolved now.
I removed cool tv and tried to redownload they the plugins UI
Version 6.4.0 is the one now available but the download fails ... "md5sum mismatch"
