Weirdly I am not seeing the same 1sec drop out of channels when viewing the same channels (eg ITV hd bbc2 hd) on Spark

anyone got another image that they know is rock solid stable for me to try? just so I can try and source the problem.

I used to have the same issue with a different box, check the hdmi connections and also change resolution to 720 to see if issue is still there.
    Might help.

Ok, I just bought the Amiko Alien Triplex 2+.

Just one question, do I still need to use the downgraded to 1.2.51 E2 Boot Upgrade on the spark side of things before I can install an enigma 2 image?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,450 ✭✭✭championc

That would seem like the 100% foolproof way of installing E2 from Spark. Forcing from the front panel seems very hit and miss.

gonna try the suggestions above when i get home.

If I have no luck I am going flash the box with championc's OpenAR-P image instead and see if I still have the 1sec drop out

    Instead of what ?

Really, don't use AR-P, go with Hyperion. the AR-P Project seems dead - no updates since last April

haha, TYPICAL!! :D I downloaded the AR-P image!! Setting it up at the moment!!

    Is the hyperion image better?

Yes, you can stream one channel while watching another

I could always do that and still can on your Open-Ar-p backup. I find it better than Hyperion but neither are as stable as the latest HDMU's which is the image getting the most attention and regular updates

is there a link to the latest HDMU image? pretty please :-)

I certainly didn't do anything different in Hyperion that I didn't do in AR-P so it's a real mystery to me that I could never get the streaming to work at all in AR-P

Maybe it is time to try HDMU again but I'll keep beating the Hyperion drum for a little while longer. I just wish they'd release a Judder Fix version. It must be very close to OpenPLi so should be the quickest thing in the world to do.

    Here: http://linuxsat-support.com/amiko-alien-2-images-e2-spark/18610-hdmu-team-e2-image-amiko-alien-2-a-9.html

no point though until they fix the judder

    Thanks Smee,

There is no judder fix available on any image yet?

Hybrid is the only image with it working. HDMU has been updated with a fix but it's not worked, still judders, waiting on the next release

    BINGO !!!

Changed from 1080p to 1080i and not a blackout to be seen.

Now how do I get my terrestrial and satellite channels into one neat bouquet?
Don't laugh but I would like them in the same order a UPC as that's what the mother in law is used to, and in fairness she is here all day with the kids.

lads I don't know how I did it but I have wiped my terrestrial channels from my box.

how do I rescan them? I have tried it in the settings but I think I am scanning the wrong freq, cause that looks to have been skewed some how.

    the aerial is fine.

    Im using Hyperion image

I had to select Italy as the location to scan dvb-t only. I'm pointing to the transmitter in Maghera

Hello, Using Champioc's excellent AR-P image (I don't bother with streaming, using O2 wi-fi dongle so internet too slow).

Has anyone got a skin that looks like Sky's. I am trying to make the transition from sky as painless as I can. Using Pli-HD at present.

On a separate note just curious why some channels freeze or seem to pixilate from time to time while others seem perfect (not FTA) even in SD. Watching RTE 2 last night on satellite feed. It normally freezes quickly but lasted for 20 mins before crapping out, same issue on SD version of Dave and on More 4 HD. Just curious, apologies if this isn't the forum to ask.

You're not understanding fully, when championc says streaming not working he means streaming from the box over your wifi to pc/laptop/tablet, not dependant on your broadband connection at all, uses your wifi

lads can anyone check plugins on hdmu image please

Been using the Dreamdroid app on Android but just found the VU+ app, much nicer, even passes the missis test where Dreamdroid was a little clunky. The best thing is it saves a domain name and lan ip in a single profile for access the box from anywhere (once you forward the port on your router) where i had to have two separate profiles on Dreamdroid. It streams lovely too with MX Player integration.

Be sure to set a password on your box if accessing from the net, telnet to the box and use "passwd root [password]" and enable it in plugins->webinterface. You'll probably have to take it off port 80 as some providers block it, mines on 8585.

Maybe someone could help re graphical epg. I have a hdmu image. I may have just upgraded the hdmu, (if that's what the "software update" in the "software management" plugin does)
But as my cool epg stopped working or at least couldn't be called up
So I recently removed that plug in
I tried to download a new version but download kept failing
But I now notice that when I click the red button I get menu including a entry called "graphical multi epg"
It's very like the old coolepg plugin
Wondering if this is a new epg built into the hdmu image?

I tried it there - I think its clunkier :-). With dreamdroid there is no setting up in streaming a second channel to another device locally. With the vu app when you stream a channel it also changes to the same channel on the box.

You didn't do it right :p

Tick the no zap before streaming in the profile settings
