Not exactly credit card busting but I tried a Dr Sludge tube after getting pissed off with the amount of flats I was getting and since then Ive had 2 flat back tyres in the last month thanks to the amount of glass on the bike paths around Bray.

Both times Ive just pulled out the glass with my Leatherman, the same shape both times, like a tiny little flint arrohead through the tyre, reinflated the flat to 120 and its still at 120 the next day so the self sealing repair feature seems to be working, thats 20 quid saved so far so its already paid for itself with a profit, really need new tyres though.

56cm Scott CR1 SL arrived today, 1020g frame, 330g uncut fork, I laughed when I picked it up...

    Beautiful frame.

Look forward to seeing what you do
    with it.

She's a beauty. Very similar two tone colour scheme to my own bike. Really, really nice.

Is that Ultegra? Hard to make out.

Congrats it is a lovely bike and i think the most important and interesting thing about the bike is that it is probably a sub €1000 bike.

IIRC you switched over the components from an existing bike but none of them are really high end (apart from frame).

I would imagine all the components could be got on the 2nd hand market or nearly new for close to 400-450 mark and added to the frame approx. 550-600 euro will get you a bike far superior to whats available in the traditional sub €1000 market.

Thanks, but it certainly stands me a lot more than €1000....

Original bike with 105 cost me €1500, plus ultegra chainset, plus fizik saddle, plus fsa k-force bars, plus fsa os115 stem, plus planet x brakes. The Scott frame was reduced to €600 down from €2500, but the bike, as a whole still stands me in excess of €2000...though that's not to say it couldn't be built up for a lot less using second hand components...
