OMG, we are absolutely shite at defending

How about bringing someone on Lennon?

Izzy is frustrating the life out of me, Mouyokolo is just useless.

About time Izzy was hooked! Balde should have been on 20 minutes ago

I've gotta say I'm pretty concerned that we won't be able to turn this around in the 2nd leg. Shaktar are a nothing team but 2 goals to hold on to and our lack of fire-power up front is going to mean a tense night.

Hope we don't do an Artmedia now and go all out for an away goal and lose another. Don't know how Forrest is still on the pitch!! Crazy

An early goal at home and Celtic will stroll it in the second leg.
    Freak result imo.

Mouyokolo though? Look's like you've bought a belter there!

    Disgraceful result tbh

Lennon has to take some pelters
Tie not over but we've given ourselves a unnecessary mountain to climb

Really awful performance, I hope the club reimburse the fans that traveled all the way to watch that.

Questions need to be asked about why Wilson & Hooper were allowed leave without replacements. Have to feel we took a gamble on qualifying on the cheap, I hope it doesn't backfire

    Officially 15 fans went

If we conceded a 3rd that would have been tie over. Will have to get the finger out for the 2nd leg and turn this lot over, they're a very average side.

If we go out here Lawell will have questions to answer. Celtic have took in big money on transfers this summer but failed to sign a recognised striker to replace Hooper. Big performance required for the 2nd leg now and will need luck as well.

Samaras and Commons were doing the same job, Brown and Ledley weren't willing to make the runs behind them, Mulgrew is a poor winger and Forrest had a shocker.

Lennon has a lot to answer for in terms of his tactics there.

    Moyoukolo, my god.

They are an awful, awful side

Very true, toothless in front of goal and its down to Lennon's persistence with Samaras as a lone striker.

Several players just going through the motions and Lennon slow to change things.

Selling the spine of a team didnt help either

Mouyokolo was unbelievably useless and Izaguirre defensively was septic. Movement in the final 3rd was non existent.

    Nearly a Bratislava!

It's getting the goal is the problem

No offence but he'd be out of his depth in your league! ;)

They should fly the fans back on the fancy plane and stick Lennon & the team on Ryanair

And give them a double bed each! That game was so far away, I doubt a Ryanair plane would make it!

Thats what ITV said (15). There were many that work out there that went.

Think Shaktar deserve a little credit too. Celtic were just poor. Perhaps this is a price you pay playing poor teams week in week out.

Recorder set, turning internet off the phone at 4, home from work at 6 and girlfriend instructed to not say a word about the match. Sorted.

Haven't got a clue what to expect from the opposition, would we be happy enough with a score draw?

Someone save the poor guy from misery. Someone must know him

Missed most of that (thankfully), but a shocking result against a poor side. I'd have been confident enough turning around a single-goal defeat, but I honestly don't think we'll score 3 against them without reply at Parkhead. Think we might win, but not by enough.

Dreadful defending for both goals tbh. Mouyokolo was very poor for their 2nd.

The failure to replace Hooper and Wilson, whatever about Wanyama, will bite us in the ass this season in Europe. Not good enough having a couple of potential "options" - they should have been better prepared to replace these players - we've known about Hooper since before the winter transfer window, and I'm sure Lenny knew about Wilson for quite a while.

They'll be incredibly difficult to break down now given they have a two goal cushion. They looked very organised defensively if nothing else tonight.

Prepare for the Europa League bhoys. :( It's gonna be a loooooooong week.

Well that was a shambles, don't know what lennon was thinking with his tactics.
Our midfield was non existent, no one took responsibility to to have a go, bringing striker on with 9 mins to go when he should have been on much earlier, if not starting.

The defence, i think that speaks for itself.

I had the same plan, my wife saved me from my misery though (along with my son who managed to unplug the Sky box to plug in his Xbox lol). :)

I took a 15 min lunch so i could leave early and be home for the start, bad idea alright. That was torture

We relied too much on Commons. We could have all the possession in the world but the midfield would play square passes all day. We are crying out for a creative midfielder when up against these type of teams and of course another striker.

I think we're OK for creative midfielders if we play Commons centrally and Samaras out wide, today they we both trying to do the same job. The lack of quality up front is killing us, Izzy had our best chance!

A few players had bad games, uncharacteristically so for Ledley & Lustig but the lack of goals in the team us a big worry for next week.

Neil Lennon speaking to media: "It's a big task but the tie is far from over. We have plenty in us to turn the deficit around."

NL: "The players will be very motivated. A few players disappointed with their performances. Still well in this tie but a lot to do."

NL on what disappointed him most about display: "Lack of composure in final bit, just needed a goal to change complexion of the tie."

NL: "Disappointed in how we conceded the first goal."

NL: "We had plenty of chances and it gives us plenty of encouragement for the second game in Glasgow."

    What game was he watching?

The way Lennon set the team up tonight was asking for trouble. Brown and Ledley will not unlock defenses. Mulgrew's best position is centre half imo. With Forrest having a quiet game you were left with Commons trying to do it all. The amount of times he had to play it left to Izzaguire was a joke. I think we all agree that Samaras is best played running at teams from deep, not being stuck up front.

I dont remember anyone attempting to make runs down the channels during the entire course of the match. Samaras, Commons, Mulgrew & Forrest never even tried to do this. Alot of watching Izaguirre run into dead ends though! Mulgrew is not fast enough for the left side of midfield.
