No injuries picked up was the main thing. Lustig and possibly Van Dijk might start on Tuesday, other than it will probably be the same starting line up as today.

Match v Shaktyar kicks off at 4PM tomorrow, is on telly somewhere? Have read elsewhere it's on ITV 4, but anytime i switch on ITV 4 for a live match it says current event not available in Ireland.

Recorder set, turning internet off the phone at 4, home from work at 6 and girlfriend instructed to not say a word about the match. Sorted.

Haven't got a clue what to expect from the opposition, would we be happy enough with a score draw?

Was looking at brief highlights of their 2nd leg home tie v Bate. Bate missed a host of chances and then gifted them a goal with a horrendous mistake from their goalie. Shaktyar won the away leg 1-0 also but Bate missed a penalty in that one I think.

If we can do a professional job we should get a result to take back to Parkhead. The team have been over there since Saturday and should be well drilled. Big game looking forward to it.

 What were Aberdeen fans doing there? :pac:

Tonight and next week are the biggest games of the season - make or break for CL groups, and the cash that goes with it. I'd be delighted to take a draw back to Parkhead, a win would be a bonus. Hope neither the pitch or lack of fans cause problems - the team should be professional enough to deal with both. Just keep it tidy at the back, take no chances on that pitch and I'll be happy.

Who will Lenny start up front? Balde or Stokes? Sammy is a given I'd imagine.

Celtic will have a different logo on the jersey tonight. Kazakhstan - where alcohol sponsorship is banned but ritual sacrifice is not

Is Tipperary Water and Bulmers run by the same company?

Some countries are just ****ed up!

We slaughter sheep at least 4 times a season! I think we all may get our coats!

These guys are going to be big and they use long ball tactics. Either Ambrose or Mouyokolo at the back is the stuff of nightmares for a match like this. Keep forgetting that Kelvin Wilson is gone too!. I think we need to pack the midfield and close them down quickly which should be effective against them.

I dont think a Bratislava will happen, I think we've prepared well for this game except for sending Garry Parker to their last match (they dropped the first team to rest them for Celtic!). I expect a better performance than Elfsborg away!

    Yep, C&C owns them both

I hope not, that was the worst I've endured in a long long time!!

Would like an early Celtic goal, that would scupper their plans and open them up. Realistically they'll be looking for a home win to have a chance of progress, so getting an early away goal would really put it up to them.

Going to go for a 1-1 draw, Broony to score.

    Love that jersey!

STV will stream the game live, for free.
Not sure if it's UK only though ;)

Celtic team to play Shakhter: Forster; Lustig, Mouyokolo, Van Dijk, Izaguirre; Forrest, Brown, Ledley, Mulgrew; Commons, Samaras

Subs: Zaluska, Amido, Kayal, Stokes, Rogic, Matthews, Ambrose.

Suprised Stokes or Amido are not starting and that Ambrose has been dropped. Big game for Van Dijk

Didnt Ambrose take bit of a belt on the ankle on saturday? He's suspect under high ball and with strong centre forwards so its not a total disaster. Mulgrew played better than he did as a DM too. It is a surprise I suppose when the 2 that start havent played at this level before. Mouyokolo made a few rash challenges on saturday which is a worry. Van Dijk looked a solid player in preseason but I'm surprised he's been thrown in given the lack of competitive gametime. Its going to be interesting!

Strong bench if we need to change things which is good. Boerrigter seems to like our physio tables already!

Not disappointed to see Ambrose dropped but I am surprised. The lineup suggests we'll try to keep it tight in defence & midfield and probably rely on Samaras & Forrest to break. I think we're going to look to nick a goal off a set piece.

Shakhtyor Karagandy team v Celtic: Mokin, Simcevic, Malyi, Vasiljevic, Dzidic, Poryvaev, Finonchenko, Canas, Vicius, Ghazaryan, Khizhnichenko

Erm, not heard of any of them!

Jaysus 3e have Lustig right midfield, VanDijk right back, Mulgrew centre half. You'd think someone could've spent 5 mins researching the Celtic team

I'm watching ITV4 because of that sort of ****e and Strachan & Sutton are analysts.

    Nearly a goal there!

    And the 2nd corner aswell!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,529 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

    Terrible defending!

All started with a poor kick by Forster

    EDIT

Unlucky by Commons, screamer but not over the line

Their tops are very like Dundee Utd!

    Was some effort
Despite that minute of madness you'd fancy us to nick a goal. Apart from commons though we don't have too much creativity

Samaras isnt good as a lone striker. Like to see Balde get on

Forrest has been anonymous in attack
