He's got great finish on him

His goal to game ratio at a high level suggests different

I'd say he's sh*** in that regard

    Any update on Finnbogason ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,920 ✭✭✭RoryMac

According to the Celtic FC twitter account Lennon confirmed we are trying to bring Teemu Pukki in and have made a bid. Lennon watching him on Wednesday. Hopefully they can see something in him that his record doesn't show.

    EDIT Still interested in Finnbogason

Celtic side to face Aberdeen at 12.30: Forster; Matthews, Mouyokolo, Ambrose, Izaguirre; Kayal, Brown, Ledley, Mulgrew; Commons, Samaras
Subs: Zaluska, Van Dijk, Lustig, Watt, Atajic, McGeouch, Forrest

Strong line up, could easily be the team that takes the field on Tuesday v Shaktyar Karagandy.

    Celtic team v Aberdeen

Forster, Matthews, mouyokolo, ambrose, izzy, Kayal, brown, ledley, mulgrew, commons, samaras

Not sure about this line up tbh

Balde and Stokes both injured, they probably would have played today. Lustig also out, surprised Brown wasn't rested.

Any details on the injuries to Balde & Stokes?

Solid line up but lacking cutting edge. Set pieces are going to be crucial today.

Nothing much about it both carrying slight knocks, neither would play on Tuesday anyway I don't think.

Aberdeen fans booing Mulgrew is idiotic, I remember him having great games in a red jersey, especially against Celtic!

Excellent stuff from Ledley, making something happen from nothing. Great save in the end

Celtic playing good stuff at times, if we had a striker we'd have scored by now. Maybe Watt should've been given a start.

    Pen

**** me, red card for Lanfield and peno for Celtic out of nowhere

    EDIT

Smoke bombs etc in the Celtic end.

Common with power down the middle

Nicky Weaver sub goalie? Remember him at Man City.

    Disgraceful from the commentators

'He rounds the keeper, overruns the ball and is looking for the pen'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,748 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

    Commons!!! 0-1

I heard that. He didn't overrun the ball, he was taken out of it stonewaller.

His touch around the keeper was heavy and it would have been a tight angle for the finish if he kept up with it.

    Langfield caught him though

That was a sore one from Mulgrew

Missed the 1st 5 minutes, what happened?

    Forster to the rescue again

Mulgrew missed the ball and came down hard on the ankle / foot of an Aberdeen player

    From the BBC

    1336:
    YELLOW CARD

Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew earns a booking for scything down Russell Anderson with the Dons fans howling for stiffer punishment.

Happened me before in a game, my own teammate came down on my foot after going up for a header. Happened early in a game and I would have come off off if we have a sub! I ran it off but my foot was black and blue the next day.

I should have said 'comes in hard'

Celtic should have scored a couple and McGinn missed a sitter for Aberdeen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,529 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

Ah right. The commentators are still going on about it so it must have been some impact.

Bit of a training exercise for Celtic at the moment

Forrest on now to cause all sorts of havoc

Cant wait to see van Dijk come on, looked decent in preseason

    Kayal played ok today

Should get the pen and paper out, digital number display not working for the substitutions.

Aberdeen mad for a sending off!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,368 ✭✭✭Prop Joe

    Great goal Forrest

Deflected finish but I'll take it!

Grant run out for Celtic ahead of Tuesday.

Aberdeen were very good in the 1st half, should be there or there abouts for the season. Sending off & peno ended the game as a contest.
