Azpilicueta is in the Spain squad for Ecuador game . Mourinho has said whoever is that squad is unlikely to play in the Hull game

Also whats the thoughts on Garrido over Turner at Norwich?
    Alcaraz over Coleman?

    Thanks

    *puts on serious face*

Garrido over Turner is a very risky maneuver due to Ollson signing. He may get a few more assists than Turner but Turner is a goal threat from set pieces and should be a consistent starter at CB. Turner's partner Bassong is 5.0 so you basically have Bassong for .5 cheaper. Turner is an A1 option and easily the safest way into the Norwich defense who can keep a clean sheet at home to anyone on their day.

Coleman over Alcaraz every single day of the week. You will not buy into Everton this season with a view of clean sheets.

i think Bony is going to tear shít up, and I'm getting him in now.

I know he scored in pre-season against Spurs, but Cabral is mostly a defensive thinking player, he's only ever scored 2 goals in his career. He's the type to sit in front of the back four, win the ball and pass it off straight away.

Even though it's only one of your subs, I think you'd be better off with someone else that would trouble the points calculators more.

    Who'd be a starting £4milly goalkeeper?

As of right now there are none. Davis of Southampton is the most likely and somebody like Joe Lewis of Cardiff or Harper at Hull could sneak in but nope it doesn't look like it for now.

Anybody taking a gamble on Navas? Who are the City players he is competing with for his position?

And Coutinho vs Gerrard? Surely Gerrard for set pieces and his form over pre season has been solid.

Think this could be my final draft, what do people think? changed it up based on RVP and Zaha performances in the Shield yesterday!

Its either this or take out RVP, Zaha and Anelka and add Soldado, Coutinho and Bony.

Lukaka and Zaha are the risks as to whether they will start

Zaha is too much of a rotation risk in my opinion. I can't see Moyes starting him more than once every two or three games. We have Nani, Kagawa, Young, Valencia, and Januzaj just to name a few people that can play ahead of him..

If he does play though, I reckon he will score a fair few points ;)

Evans a bit of a risk. The main four will be Fabio / Rio / Vidic / Evra more than likely. Obviously I could be proven wrong and Evans could start every game ahead of Fabio, but I wouldn't put money on him starting.. I wouldn't even put money on him starting over Jones!

    Also, isn't Foster second choice?

I can't believe the lack of RVP love in this thread. Do we not think he's going to teat it up again this year?

    Any thoughts?

Quick one, have Zaha in for 6.5m however think he is too much of a rotation risk and will take him our, goign to go for either Snodgrass or Routledge, what do you think? Routledge had good end to last year

For me personally I can't justify his price. At the moment I have 25.0 tied up in strikers. While trying to stick to that budget - If I was to include RVP at 14.0, that leaves me with me 11.0 to work with. That's two 5.5 strikers. Anelka and possibly Cornelius.

I can see my combination of Lukaku / Dzeko / Soldado easily out scoring the three above. Alternatively you could say remove some MF strength in favour of RVP. Let's say I drop Dzeko as he is most likely to be rotated somewhat regularly. That means I need to drop 6.5 from my MF to include him in.

Dropping Walcott wouldn't be an option. Not having him would be silly. Same could be said for Hazard.

I could drop Nani in favour of Snodgrass to save 1.0 - I still need another 5.5

I could downgrade Mirallis to someone like Routledge to save 2.0 - Still need 3.5

    Downgrade Boruc to a non-playing 4.0 keeper - Still need 3.0

To my defence - Could downgrade Coleman to a not likely to play 4.0 / 4.5 defender to save 0.5 - Still need 2.5

Guess I could downgrade Terry to a 4.5 defender - Still need 1.0

Downgrade Zabaleta to a 5.0 - Finally there

As you can see I've dropped a potentially huge number of points just to accomodate him.. Can't justify it ;)

It looks like he will, but there has to be a line drawn as to his price. There are so many good MF and FW options around at the £7-£9.5m price range that you can have a considerably stronger team without him. I plan on getting him in after 3 weeks IF he continues on his form from last year. Even RVP would be doing well to bang in more than 3 goals against Swansea (A), Chelsea (H) and Liverpool (A). I'm expecting him to pick up ~20 points from those three matches, and it's unlikely he will be many people's captain for any of them. I think the extra cash used by NOT having RVP will pick me up more than 20 points in the first 3 GW's. This is what I'm basing my decision on. See below:

    Team A - without RVP

    2hdvfaf.png

This could also end up being Mig+Toure instead of Hart+Brayford. And Bony may replace Lukaku. The reason I'm favouring atm Lukaku is the DGW, and the fact that although it's likely I will swap him straight out for Bony, it gives me the option to swap for The Wolf, Berbs, or any other player that is looking good. Lukaku could run riot in the DGW, it's unlikely Bony will score higher than 6 points at United. The keeper situation I'm not sure about. Mig will be strong this year but I really want Hart. It looks like Toure has nailed down a spot too, and I'd have no problem doubling up on them, especially for GW 1 against Stoke. Could be an easy 12 points right from the start. See alternate team A here.

So I'd be looking at something like this change (bearing in mind that it could be Bony for Lukaku and Mig (£+1m) for Hart)

    dphmjb.png

Which would give me the following:

    Team B - with RVP

    3038ml4.png

With this team a lot depends on whether Morrison nails down a spot. At the moment this is unlikely, but there's no other £4.5m I would be happy playing every week, and the rest of my bench is even weaker. Foster wouldn't be the end of the world, but is likely to score less than Hart/Mig.

Bottom line - Will Foster, RVP and Dikgacoi/Morrison outscore Hart, Coutinho and Lukaku/Bony over the first three weeks? I don't think so, and this is what it comes down to for me.

Only have the 6.5m in the bank unfortunately - nani is def on my watchlist though once he gets back fit and hopefully Moyes gives him a good run of games!

    Not looking at captaincy yet.

Thinking I might try and get Benteke in for Berba though, even though he has two hard games. Benteke has been immense in some pre-season games.

Draft 10 below, I still have $2m left, but the only major change I would make would be dropping of Soldado and Jovetivic for Shane Long and RVP. Thoughts?

Can you explain your logic behind Reid / Arteta / de Guzman / Jovetic / Sorenson?

    Very unusual choices.

Almost exactly the same as the teams posted by some other people.

In changing a few players you've let yourself down though :pac:. Lucas is not a FF player - GET RID!

I'm not convinced about Toure. He's very expensive for someone who sat back a lot during last season. I'll be interested to see where he's played this season. If given more license to go forward he could be a shrewd buy.

Toure - is cheaper than Silva and yet they bought got just about the same amount of points last year - thats why I went for him.

Lucas - I nearly always play 3 4 3 - so Lucas would normallly be a sub. But as far as Iknow, he usually starts for Liverpool so if neeed at least he will pick up 2 points - I dont know which other 4.5m midfielder to go with instead.

Thoughts on my team? Have 2 mil in the bank to get rid of Lukaku after GW1

    playing 3-4-3

    Mignolet

    A.Cole
    Vlaar
    Dawson

    Coutinho
    Hazard
    Silva
    Whittingham

    Lukaku
    Van Persie
    Anelka

    Subs
    Davis

    Brayford
    Rosenior
    Cabral

Worried about Lukaku even playing both Games in Gameweek 1 also with West Brom signing Vydra today I wonder how much game time will Anelka get.

    Bench is pretty poor too....

Nani was injured for the Charity Shield if that is anything to go by.

Toure had more minutes so it's natural that he got near to Silva's points total.

I think he's far too expensive for what he offers. That leads nicely to the point you made below.

Downgrade Toure and you'll have enough money to get a good 5 million player in instead of Lucas.

He will guarantee you 2 points alright but that's all. He is one of the worst FF players out there. You'll regret it if you go ahead and pick him.

For a team with RVP in it I really think it looks very good albeit one or two issue in defense

    t99uua.jpg

How much better is the RVPless one really?

    14mcqe0.jpg

    Davis -> Mignolet
    Toure -> Terry
    Snodgrass -> Coutinho
    RVP -> Benteke

The way I see it I'm putting more faith in Liverpool than I am in Man Utd, that's got to be a dangerous strategy. Snodgrass also has both Hooper and The Wolf to feed this year so more potential for assists.

You'd think the Terry over Southampton keeper would be advantage Terry but with all their matches, rotation etc my RVP consistency could surpass the difference by the end of the season.

So really would I rather Benteke or RVP in theory winds up as the main issue. What I think I might do is go for the RVP team with Benteke over RVP for week one with the intention of bringing him in then. Maybe bring Terry in for the week too. That way I have 2 weeks to dump Terry and Benteke for RVP or anyone who catches my eye.

Why go from 1 playing keeper to 2 though?

Why not drop Miralles in the second one to snod. There's 1.5m to invest further in your forward line or subs.

Because between Davis and Boruc I'm guaranteed a starter and Mirallas is non-negotiable. I see him as a big hitter who happens to be 1.5/2.0 cheaper than the rest. Bar injury or spectacular loss of form I'll have him for the foreseeable future. I'd rate him a level or 2 above Snodgrass. I could go for a rotation between Redmond and Whittingham/Koren instead of Snodgrass/Morrison though.
