Rate My Team thread

Sigh.. This is my fifth revision of my team..

Nani OUT, Zaha IN - Nani picked up a knock during the last friendly and will more than likely not be playing. Don't see many other better options for his price so I just replaced him with Zaha as he will more than likely play instead. Still not 100% convinced by this. Might look for someone more solid. Could perhaps drop Boruc to Davis and look in the 7.5 range.

Terry OUT, Cole IN - Cole is the only guaranteed defender in my opinion. Don't trust Terry to be played unless David Luiz leaves before Saturday.

First season I've put some proper planning into this, would love some feedback. I'm kind of torn between captaincy for the first GW too I have doubts as to whether or not Lukaku would start or even feature in both games. Also what are peoples thoughts on Hazard v Mata?

4 out of 5 of the top managers on FFS say they are leaning towards picking him. If the was guaranteed to play both he would be the most chosen player. Even if he starts the first game and only features briefly in the second he's worth it IMO.

Why would you spend £5m on two keepers and leave one on the bench?

Just wondering if anyone has any inkling as to how West Ham will line up in midfield? I'm assuming they'll go 5 in midfield and I had been thinking Joe Cole but Downing signing could affect that as well as Morrison's pre-season form. But as I understand Cole has been doing pretty well himself. My guess is they'll play Nolan and Noble/Collison in the middle, possibly Jarvis on the right and Downing on the left. Which would leave Cole and Morrison vying for that position off Carroll/Maiga. I know both Cole & Morrison have played at the same time this pre-season but I'm unsure who played where and who Downing signing could affect most. Any help?

Ok I really like this team now and it gives me options. Whether that's good or bad remains to be seen:



If I didn't fancy Redmond or Thomas on a certain week Coleman could come in for a 4-3-3 etc. Marshall and Boruc are the 2 best 4.5 options and offer some rotation. GW's 5 and 8 are the only issues until GW12 when things get messy but who knows what will be after happening by then.

Made one more change to the above - Chambers OUT, Fabio IN - I can see Fabio being Utd's main RB so at 4.5 he is a bargain

Plan for the first three weeks - See Mourinho rotates his strike force. Will more than likely take out Lukaku in favour of Bony. The Wolf is also an option, but Bony scored 31 goals in 30 appearances last year... Could very well take out Dzeko as well but will see if Pelligrini holds true onn what he said about Dzeko being his main man..

Nice team otherwise, I personally don't like rotating bench but you have it worked out well

That's my concern at the moment. I can try and swing one of Terry/Lukaku/Benteke and I probably will but I'd see any more than 2 or 3 as an inconvenience as if things were going well I'd like to hold the wildcard for maybe the second international break. I also thought of Tonev.

Some of the fixtures following that international break are:
Arsenal vs Norwich
Chelsea vs Cardiff
Man Utd vs Southampton

It's only Tuesday yet plenty of time to freak out and change everything :pac:

Would drop the value of the defence and draft in another striker you are happy to start. You can definitely find a striker you will want to start more than Shelvey if you do so.

Hard to get a combination of 2 x 4.5m = acceptable, but you could probably do worse than Ravel Morrison and Dikgacoi?

Why have you put Mignolet, Koscielny and Coleman on the bench? I'd be starting all of them.

Also I wouldn't have Clark or any other Villa defender, can't see them doing anything defensively in the DGW.

Yes was going start Mignolet and Kos alright. Who to replace Clark with for 4.5m is the question?

It happened again.. I need to stop..



BORUC out, MANNONE in - Both 4.5 and both are the main choices in their clubs. I just personally have more faith in the Sunderland defence than I do in the Southampton defence. Hopefully won't ever need to play him.

TERRY out, COLE in - In my eyes Cole is the only defender than I would feel comfortable to pin as a guaranteed starter for Chelsea for the season. He has hardly any competition for his spot at LB other than Bertrand. I know I could have chosen someone like Luiz, Terry, Ivanovic, Azpilicueta except only three of those four can start. Really depends if Luiz is on the way out or not. If he does end up leaving I will slot Ivanovic in there.

NANI out, RAMIRES in - Since Nani was injured I needed to take him out as he more than likely wont start for the first week or two. I had Zaha slotted in there instead, as he is likely to start, but there is a very big rotation risk. Ramires on the other hand is a regular starter for Chelsea. I will more than likely just keep him for the DGW and see what happens.

LUKAKU out, BONY in - I know, I know. Call me crazy. I had my doubts about Lukaku anyway but since I needed someone to come in for Zaha Ramires was my best option. That meant one Chelsea player had to go. Lukaku got the boot in favour of Bony as he will definitely be a regular starter. Lukaku won't be.

I feel uneasy leaving Dzeko in there but he's staying for now.

Im pretty sure Mata will be missing the first match so I would go with Hazard and save 1M and why not play Cech he is a shoe in for the DGW where as terry isn't .

Kagawa did not start in the Charity shield and hard to know if he will play every week.
