Imo definitely worth it. Have had my sub for the last 3 years and best money ever spent. Champs league, Europa league,fa cup, carling cup, seria A, la liga and internationals for 69 Euro renewal is just great value!

Time for you and the lads to work out how to make tunlr work with live streams from AL Jaz for the VU+'s :)

    They have an IPTV service.....

Surely it will increase in price with the EPL rights ?

STB was referring to vix which is software for several Linux receivers generally used for foreign satellite reception as well as 28e. And getting tulnr/jsc iptv on that so within realms of foreign satellite forum as much as ondemand for these receivers is as discussed extensively within this foreign satellite section.
Too much sniping at posters on this forum lately which is half the reason I don't frequent here as much lately

We all know what linux receivers are and vu+ so don't act as if ye dont know whats going on,

Why cant the thread just stay on topic ,

So are we right in thinking that Al Jazeera sport will stay on hot bird but will not have premiership on there.

If so where is the best place to get a card for it?

    Sorry, total newb.

Now that it has been established that Al Jaz for EPL wont be receivable on sat in Ireland, my post was relevant to those who may still like to obtain it using linux receivers to access it ala OnDemand style tunlr coding, if possible.

Is that the only contribution you are bringing to the thread. Taking pot shots? You haven't one post here in this thread.

Sorry mate has it been confirmed as bit accessible for definite on 13e. I know in all probability it will not be but just wondering had JSC confirmed this?

so anyway al Jazeera minus epl on hotbird is it worth paying for a sub and getting a card in the next week or so?

    Viaccess 5, definitely!

1.8 is no good. For Nilesat A Monster, NASA sized dish. Purplesat dont even have calcs its so out of range.

    http://purplesat.com/index.php?p=1_104_STRONG-CHANNELS-LISTS-010713

    Go down to Nilesat 201.

Interesting site, not that I fully understand it though.

All I know is I pick up MBC on Badr 4, which is the most important station for me, in Dublin on an 88cm Triax dish (like you)

What box would you recommend (that would suit my needs) to pick up al jazeera streams - would it be one of the VUs?

Not taking shots, Just dont see why your bringing linux boxes into it.

Please can we bring this thread back on topic and leave petty arguments aside. Stb mentioned Linux boxes as the majority of people accessing multi Sat foreign satellite do so with Linux boxes (dreambox, vu+ etc) and ondemand and several other Linux plugins are capable if playing both foreign and Home catchup tv and live streams. And if JSC SPORT do decide to only host the epl on 7west then realistically this may be the only way to watch them as its not receivable in Ireland without a massive massive dish

That can't keep your money unless you hit the 'services received' option on PayPal. You should be ok there

I mailed them back and asked what would be left on hotbird. He said all would be clear on August 1st. My friend.

my views on this will be that Al jazerra will keep their service on hotbird and only show the same amount of games than our UK/Ireland broadcasters and possibly in Arabic only. We may get extra sunday games and week days, But I think it may well happen. The big question is will they be allowed to broadcast in English? Well they are not a european county, so may well be allowed (Like Tring did), but I doubt it. But my guess is they will broadcast some EPL from 13 east. If this is the case, it could be the best package in the world if they intoduce these extra HD channels and still keep the same sports rights?

When will the information about what is available in what language etc. be made known?

When Showtime had the Premier League rights in the MENA they broadcast in English and had English presenters like Keegan, Hoddle, Barnes

Apparently the likes of fergie has been signed up. but im wondering if Hotbird will get a slimmed down version of the broadcasting (Basically the same rules as all the other EU broadcasters) for hotbird. Its just a hunch, but i can see some form of EPL broadcast from 13 east with or without English.

Apparently 1st August. It will certainly be in English on the north Africa beams (7 and 26 east), but i highly doubt it will be if there is a service on 13 east.

I've subscribed to JSC online, no point in buying a card for this on sat as there is no way 13e will transmit live EPL imo - Looking at it the streams are of much better quality than ADMC had too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,138 ✭✭✭snaps

Looking at Al Jazeeras website, they seem to have everything now apart from German Bundesliga.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,275 ✭✭✭irishchris

I reckon they will definitely have some games on 13e. Doubtful in English but maybe early and late Saturday kickoffs and midweek games as its only the 3pm games that can't do English audio. And even if the 3pms were shown in foreign language with Andy Gray and Richard keys doing pre match and post match studio in English on jsc sports 3 and jsc sports HD 6 it will still be worth every penny

It applies to all matches I'm afraid Chris.

The 3pm Saturday extra restriction is one match only.

How do you subscribe to JSC on line? Which website please? And will it not be geo-blocked for ootie?

It is, but you can get VPN suppliers that support Egypt for example.

Not sure if I can give examples here as it would be circumventing protection.
