    The new nexus and Motorola X phone should only be a few months away. It's worth waiting to see what they are like. You'd kick yourself otherwise.

    Yeah that's my thinking, since the leak of LG Optimus 2, it's likely that the new Nexus will be very similar spec wise. I'm better off waiting I think!

    N4 arrived in at Parcel Motel at 1pm today. Hopefully I'll get it tomorrow.

    You're in Dublin? It'll probably be there tonight before dark or really soon after! Unless you go to bed early, you'll probably get notified in time. Make sure your PM settings allow for texts after a certain time, or just keep an eye on your email as you'll be notified there also (24/7).

    Since one of the reasons the N4 never launched in Ireland was because only apps were sold here, but now that Apps, Music, Books and possibly Movies/Magazines soon is it possible that Google will launch the speculated N5 here, or any other Nexus device for that matter?

    Thinking of starting the whole process for a Nexus 10. One question though, how long am I looking at, roughly, from first step to final delivery?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,609 ✭✭✭irish_stevo815

    Sorry for asking, but I dont really wanna look thru 200 odd pages to get an answer. So if someone could help it would be much appreciated.

    Where would I go about ordering a Nexus 4 other than Amazon or Ebay? Is there anywhere in ireland that selld them?

    Still loving mine!

    Flubit cancelled my demand, "out of stock" the reason given. A mistake or have they been discontinued with the N5 on the horizon?

    Sorry to hear that your order was cancelled, how long had gone in the order? Mine is in progress since Friday week ago. Good luck with the next order.

    Also curious about this. Ordered mine on the same day. Just wondering how long - in other peoples experience, it takes between ordering and dispatch from google?

    I had raised a query with them & the reply I got was
    Thank you for your mail. There is a slight delay in dispatch of your phone due to the large amount of orders we receive for the nexus 4. I have an estimated dispatch day of the 18th July and we will supply you with a tracking number once we receive it
    So really hope to hear something tomorrow & if not the latest on Friday :eek:

    Ah. If you don't hear by Friday, you should call them up on the phone. You could get a better response once you speak to someone, at the very least it'll be quicker.

    They've always been fantastic when I've spoken on the phone with them and pretty good over email, but it depends on the issue and what department is dealing with it.

    My Desire S is on the way out, slow as be jaysus and constantly freezing. Do I;

    a) pull the trigger now and get an N4 or
    b) Wait for the N5?

    The one thing that really puts me off the N4 is the lack of SD slot, I have all my music on my phone and I don't want to lose it. Also do we have an estimated release date for the N5?

    The N5 won't have an SD slot either.

    According to this;

    http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/491122/20130717/google-nexus-5-release-date-specs-features.htm

    it will?

    That was a very cursory google search though so could be total bs.

    Nexus devices don't tend to have expandable memory, due to Google reckoning it slows down the OS as a whole so their devices are always internal memory....

    As Fielddog says Google are not advocates of external memory for various reasons and they are of the cloud, the likelihood of there being expandable memory in the Nexus 5 is effectively zero.

    Right so, with my dream of expandable memory well and truly shafted (didn't know about that google music bit, I shall investigate) , would you guys think N4 ir wait for N5? My current phone is verging on terminally broken atm and I presume even if the N5 is released in October I won't get it until after Christmas since there will be so much demand stateside?

    Will we see a drop in price in the nexus 4 soon??

    Wow. I also ordered mine July 2nd and got it late Friday night on July 5th! I've had to order a replacement device since then and received that on Monday. I would definitely get onto them again.
