I personally wasn't truly surprised till this mornings tape, which lead me to ask. Is this actually real? Mullah? Do top level bankers actually say stuff like that?

I'm worried though if, IF there is an investigation that it'll take forever, cost a huge amount of money and nothing will come of it.

Thats what I was thinking. Who does Enda Kenny think he is kidding by trying to get an enquiry into this. He is only doing it to give immunity to his scumbag mates in Anglo while at the same time giving a massive payday to lawyers, all at the taxpayers expense.

Any investigation into the banking crises will take at least 10 years, costs hundreds of millions of taxpayers money and involve the bankers giving the investigators the run around. It will tell us nothing we don't already know.

The people involved should be criminally prosecuted, nothing else will suffice.

I wonder is that mocking just being purely pissed off at Ireland and finding it baffling how we're not uprising to a massive scam and stitch up.

I thought Kenny wants a Parliamentary Inquiry as opposed to a Tribunal, no?

Doesn't a Parliamentary Inquiry just mean that politicians will be asking bankers questions, as opposed to hiring lawyers and judges to make a case?

He pretty much said rte is a fcuking farce but sure we know that. Read back a few pages on plumberbuilders post and he wrote it well on corruption and the elite.

That's the bit that confused me today. Enda Kenny said the the Guards had the tapes for 4 years and then in the same breath says that the buck stops with the government and that he's going to "get them."

Surely he knew about the tapes and now that the public knows about them he's trying to pretend like he's going after Drumm and Bowe and whoever else. Does he think we're stupid? This isn't news to him and he never did anything about it beforehand. It's seriously frustrating. I never thought about the extent of how we're being lied to until now and the reality is sickening.

The Government should not be allowed to dictate what happens with this inquiry.
They were silent for so long and denied knowing about the tapes.
Does anyone seriously believe that the Garda Commissioner who is their appointed puppet didn't inform Shatter and his buddies about their existence and content?. Not a chance. (Remember Wallace's penalty points)
They were obviously hoping the media wouldn't get wind of the tapes and I wonder why

Enda Kenny has really let himself down (again) with his reaction to the Anglo tapes. At best he comes across as a complete cowboy.

But let's not fool ourselves. There are many many TDs and ex-TDs who went into Anglo for handy loans or digouts during the "boom" years. It's a can of worms.
