    Fox are reporting there is a massive amount of police activity in some area.

    Presumably that means more activity than there has been in last few hours.

    Heard it on the scanner too, 1 was described as Middle Eastern by the cop who announced it. They haven't said anything more on it.

    Seen reports on Twitter that 9,000 officers are now in the area, and they're bringing in bus-loads of SWAT officers.

    Scanner has stopped "diverting resources" to "that area" (164 Commonwealth Avenue).

    Robbery of a conveinence store called in.
    Police officer near conveinence store shot and killed in his car.
    Piles of cops dumped to the area.
    Shootout ensued with explosions (suspected grenades).

    Suspect 2 escaped.
    Police have shutdown 4 or 5 towns/neighbourhoods/areas. Focused on Watertown.

    That's it, suspect #2 is still loose and armed to the teeth.

    It seems like they were planning on setting off further explosives around MIT last night, as the police found devices around the campus. There are reports that the first suspect (now dead) had explosives on his body too. I have no idea why they'd rob a convenience store first though.

    Edit: Maybe they wanted to get the police out and cause a massive situation like this?
