I think you'll find people are expressing their shock and horror at such a despicable and cowardly act carried out on innocent people while watching and partaking in a sporting event.

I was more commenting on the fact its like reading people repeating everything sky or fox news says one after one as they say it.

Has it been confirmed the arrest is related to the explosions?

Given that there are more than ten police in the photo, it's safe to assume it is. They'd hardly be sparing that many cops today for an unrelated manner, nor FBI agents

It never ceases to amaze me just how warped and twisted the world can be. There really are humans who do not deserve to breath but watching the coverage of the events it's important to remember that the person or people behind them is only a tiny, tiny fraction of the worlds populace and that he vast majority of humans are decent. Just watch as in the seconds after the explosion people put aside their own safety and run to help those at the heart of the chaos.

Would be a hell of a coincidence given the mentions of the FBI going to that very same area to question an apprehended suspect on the boston scanner

I don't know Boston well enough to recognise the park.

Could be Maine for all I know.

Then watch Sky News and don't complain when their are people out there with much more to complain about then you 'feeling drunk' and struggling to read through these posts.

Don't get that logic, myself. It wouldn't be sick if the victims were just adults?

I'd be very very surprised if thats the guy.

    Why exactly?

The photo was posted with the location mentioned long before anythng was mentioned on the police scanner

CNN reporting that the police have no one in custody

I would tend to believe CNN more than the NYPost and others.
CNN have a requirement to have independent confirmations from multiple sources before they'll run with a story.

I've seen a few people slagging them off for being 'slow' to report, but at least they're not just randomly speculating and reporting rumours like certain other outlets.

They might be later, but at least they're usually accurate.

i do think Obama's immediate response has been far more intelligent and measured that that clown Bush after 911.
mind you a demented and hormonal chimpanzee would have reacted more intelligently than Bush.

That's not the way it read or came across. Carry on watching Sky News so.

The Boston police scanner has said several times they have someone in custody

It's sad when anyone dies, but there is something pretty tragic about cutting a little life so short like that. Also, children are among the most vulnerable in society, and you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat the vulnerable. I can't even imagine being the parent of a murdered child.

Yeah, but what I'm saying is CNN will report that when they've some kind of confirmed report.

It's a little more measured than the other outlets at times.

We don't know who the police have in custody or if it's necessarily related to this.

I'd imagine this would also be Homeland Security / FBI stuff rather than the Boston PD.

I'd imagine that there is so much police coverage in mid Boston now, if anything at all happens a large number of officers will be close by to assist.

Very carefully crafted speech and well delivered - came across as a strong leader and never mentioned the word terrorism at all throughout

Are you sure they were talking about this incident? I'm sure ordinary criminals are still doing their thing right now, and the scanner isn't dedicated to those dealing with the attack.

Sick either way, but an 8 year old who has a full life ahead of them is truely tragic!

I'm actually amazed that the US police forces radios aren't encrypted.
In Europe (even in Ireland) they use digital encrypted radio these days. Just very surprised you can use 'scanners' at all.
