Hasn't AdBlock been removed from the Play Store?

I'm sure you can still get the APK and load it yourself.

Mine was delivered to PM after 1 and it was in Dublin at 9.

You can ring PM up and ask them. Thats what I did.

Maybe, I always get the first notification at about 22.30 so the obviously hit the boxes in the evening.

    May come down this afternoon.

Girlfriend got one before on a Saturday morning though....

Yep, they deliver on Saturdays so if you don't get it today (I'd imagine you will) then you'll have it tomorrow.

Cheers for the update. I have changed them so I get notifications any time. I think I will be rushing out of the bed tonight to go collect if I do get the notification..

@DECEiFER Hmm do you have a MHL connector/cable? Could be used for outputting the display onto a monitor or something if it's just for changing a setting (assuming the phone is still working and it's only the display thats dead.
I don't and I believe the phone still works. Would I be able to use one without the need for setting the display output in the phone's settings? I mean, would it automatically output the display as soon as a HDMI screen is plugged in via the adapter? If so, I'd definitely get one.

I think the Dubs in the thread here have it easy. I reckon it won't be there until tomorrow morning for you. For most of the Limerick folks here, it was a morning or afternoon check-in to Belfast's PM followed by a 6am notification the next morning for the item arriving at the locker. The same was true of me a day or so ago. I can't be sure about Galway but just thought I'd mention that it could be tomorrow morning bright and early before you see anything from them.

Thanks, I'd appreciate a heads-up. If it works, I'll relock the bootloader ASAP.

EDIT: It won't work. The Nexus 4 uses SlimPort and not MHL. :(

This is the only accessory that I can find:

Just as a matter of interest Deceifer, what apps do you need root for? The nexus is my first Android I have no intention of dicking around with, as I have no real need to this time around, I had 2 budget androids before and I changed ROMs like I did boxers on them, but with Nexus I don't feel the need, due to being totally stock....

I have unrooted and relocked the boatloader of my cousin's that was done previous to him buying the phone second hand, was handy actually, but I don't see the need to root for adblock and maybe titanium backup....

Unless your a developer or something and *need* root....

I know it's a personal preference but this is one phone I feel I have no need to do, unless some super amazing app comes along to make it worthwhile! :)

As Cap'n M says, it's just handy to have around but I do use Titanium Backup and ES File Explorer in root mode regularly. Plus while I was able to yesterday, I did notice the touch sensitivity on the Nexus 4 is as bad as what reviewers on YouTube have been saying. In-fact, as I was running AnTuTu when my phone went to sh1t, I was at the same time browsing the web on my desktop and about to download the fix from XDA. Had my phone continued to work, I'd have flashed the fix within minutes of AnTuTu running. Flashing the fix or any system modification requires root.

I may root down the line alright, just no apps I really use for root, I do use ES myself, infact it's one app I couldn't live without back with my last 2 androids, I mainly used it for deleting bloatware I didn't like, and its great for it, ad free is great if you have a rake of third party apps... (I don't!)

Google have me good this time - thanks to CM9 and 10 they have me well integrated in their ecosystem, I knew my next phone had to be a Nexus!

I may root and check out MIUI on N4, was full of bugs on my last phone, I'd like to see have any devs made a good stab at it on this phone.... :)

Just found this thread! Can someone fill me in on the trick with Flubit is please (if it's still working that is!). I've already sent Flubit a "demand" using the Google Play US url. So I pay with PayPal and give 'em my NI PM address?

Thanks Capt! I also found a nifty post by DECEifer showing how to change PayPal's exchange rate to be set by my bank (I had been trying to do this before and failed!). Thanks all! Now to list my old GNex on adverts.

Yea your right it doesn't even fit in. Going to have to get myself a Simport connector so. least it outputs full 1080 HD and doesn't need a power supply to work...

The Google way is much quicker though if it works. I ordered from flubit and Google one day apart and I got my Google ones last Monday and the flu bit ones haven't even been despatched.

Just this minute got a shipping notification and tracking number from Fireworks support for my replacement device. :)

With any luck, it'll be here by Wednesday at the latest. Hopefully it'll be the 16GB version again.

Yeah and the only one I found available for us here to purchase is on Amazon.co.uk, though if you got it from the US, it's still about $30.

Yup, don't use PayPal's exchange rate. Let them bill you in GBP and your bank will determine the rate.

To do this, you need to purchase something on else PayPal (for some reason, doing so on Flubit won't work as the option I'm about to mention doesn't show there). I did this yesterday and lobbed this into my PayPal just so I could make the change. When it brings you to the next screen after you login, you'll see an option (see screen shot below) to change your preference. This would be a global change affecting all of your purchases going forward. PayPal's rates are always a joke and your bank should be able to do better all of the time. Once done, just close out of the window and forget the purchase. Then head back to Flubit and try purchasing the tablet again. You'll only see the GBP price on PayPal and won't know the exact charge in Euro until the purchase makes it on to your statement.

Flubit are offering the 8gb to me for £235 all in! The problem is I've just discovered there's no dock for the N4 similar to the Samsung dock for the older Nexus...trying to figure out a solution (have the Samsung dock hooked up to a Roberts Stream 83i)

Got my nexus this morning from parcel motel. Delighted with it. Thanks for all the help while I was ordering it. Really helpful.
