    She did pull the UK out of what looked like a death spiral - which is not to say that her policies were easy or popular. I don't think people realise what a disaster that place had become by the 70s. The IMF had to bail them out in '76.

    I think most people wouldn't be against the sort of hold the unions had over economic life in the UK pre Thatcher, in the context of those times, but it couldn't last if Britain was to stay competitive.

    She's never going to be thanked by the majority for toppling the status quo.

    Criticise her till the cows come home but the talk about how people wished she spent her last moments and where she's heading now is beneath contempt.
