Anyway, I don't think we'll ever see either period again, The Player which parodied the power of producers and accountants was true and unfortunately Hollywood only got worse.

I think there are some incredible films being made these days. In the last year both Paul Thomas Anderson and Michael Haneke released two extraordinary films in The Master and Amour that are two of the best that I've seen in a long time. This generation is lucky enough to have these directors/writers working today and producing consistently brilliant work that continues to raise the bar. They are both as good as anyone who has ever worked in film, in my opinion. It feels exciting to be around while they're making films, anticipating what's coming next.

To be honest, I think cinema has been doing great. I think music has suffered far more, although there is still amazing music being made.
