Dawson's Creek started 15 years ago. People who were born in the year that it started are now the same age as the teenage characters in the first series!
And the original actors are still not nearly old enough to be talking like they did back then, and they were old back then. It was like listening to a bunch of 70 year old english professors trying to outdo each other in a contest to see whats the most complex vocabulary they could come up with, AND being allowed use a thesaurus.

The 1970s? Comparatively the '90s were pretty poor cinematically.

The 70's was ground breaking, I just think 1990-96 was when 70's type movies was perfected and became mainstream, though thinking about it, maybe it was the return of 70's movies after a lull in the 80's.

Anyway, I don't think we'll ever see either period again, The Player which parodied the power of producers and accountants was true and unfortunately Hollywood only got worse.

I think there are some incredible films being made these days. In the last year both Paul Thomas Anderson and Michael Haneke released two extraordinary films in The Master and Amour that are two of the best that I've seen in a long time. This generation is lucky enough to have these directors/writers working today and producing consistently brilliant work that continues to raise the bar. They are both as good as anyone who has ever worked in film, in my opinion. It feels exciting to be around while they're making films, anticipating what's coming next.

To be honest, I think cinema has been doing great. I think music has suffered far more, although there is still amazing music being made.

My mum and dad were talking about punts and pence last night and I had no idea what they were. Was born in 2001 so only know euro's and cents. I saw an old irish punt we have had at home and it is so big looking

1990-96, Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Casino, Natural Born Killers, Leon, Bad Lieutenant, the Piano, In The Name of the Father, True Romance, The Player, Pret-a-Porter and so many others.

I felt I had the joy of going to the cinema when Hollywood was at its best, mainstream Hollywood and Indie movies were one in the same.

Twas the time they were sick of sequels and long before re-boots.

Didn't last long but it was a glorious period.

There was still plenty of sequels about in the early 90s, both good and bad. Terminator 2, robocop 2&3, Rocky V, batman returns and forever, police academy 7, star trek generations, predator 2. Etc.

I can recall seeing the Irish punt coin for the first time and being amazed, never mind the fact I was already working, having graduated college, before I saw my first euro. You make me feel so old.

Wrestlemania 3 was 26years & 7 days ago, hulk hogan vs andre the giant.

I thought hulk hogan looked pretty old back then for a wrestler, and seems he was still wrestling a few years ago.

"Who loves orange soda? Kel loves orange soda. Is it true? Mm-hmm! I do, I do ,I do, I do, I do-ooh!") - 13 years ago.

It just goes to show how good that show was when, 13 years later, people of my age are still saying "I... put.. the.. screw.. in.. the.. tuna".

Some interesting trivia about that match:

    - Andre was in terrible pain at the time as he had health problems due to his size and weight.
    - It's said that Andre was coked up in order to go out and perform.
