He thought you caught the plague... so he put you down the most ethical way he could..... while laughing like a maniac....
Also Laviski sorry to be moaning and all but me and M40 got ourselves a Humvee to sell, but it's not a dayz one and we cant sell non dayz ones. Just a heads up to other people with some vehicles. Also just out of curiosity how did you crash that Mi-17? :P

ok so far i can't seem to get the side working. so more reason to pop on to our teamspeak server! :D (its free and no pw to join!)

i just restarted the server and sorted out the bec n stuff. also i'm moving the server to port 2310 and as a result shutting down the vanilla dayz for the moment.

Tried it last night on our own server, it has great potential, however I got the feeling I was alpha testing stand alone dayz if you get my drift. To be able to strip parts of damaged vehicles and fix your own is class. Same with siphoning petrol! The trader cities are going to be a beacon for griefers though!

Has anyone had any interaction with the any of the dogs running around, they cant be tamed by chance? Loved when you take a drink an empty tin can appears at your feet!

Empty tin can appearing at your feet was in Dayz 2 or 3 patches ago btw. Yeah some things in Epoch are good but some thing like being able to buy vehicles, buy a safe to stash weapons that no one can loot is just a bit over the top for me no aspect of scrounging...

Feck sake went on last night and sold my chinook for some gold and bought a U1-H1 which no more than 10 minutes later I crashed into some trees.I hate flying in the dark!

Me and m40 had a little bird last night and we were going to check out another chopper we found so I ejected and the f*ckin' parachute screws up our little bird, red main rotor, red engine and red inst. Only in Arma...

Rumours abound that DayZ standalone will be coming to PS4

Haha that's the biggest load of crap I've heard tbh. Even if it does I'd say it will be released probably a year after PC release. To put it simply the Arma controls are too clunky for a controller (presuming it still uses Arma controls), The map will be big on Chernarus Plus therefore the PS4 will have lower graphics and the view distance on all servers will be low, and also I really don't think the servers will hold up well. This is just my opinion, I stand corrected and surprised if it actually comes out. And it is old news, of course Rocket wants to see it on other consoles to get more money due to the mods popularity boom.

If the PS4 is what its supposed to be it will run Dayz fine.

Its not old news. A few months ago Rocket said he would like to see it on consoles, last week it was reported that he met with Sony about putting it on the PS4.

The PS4 will struggle running ARMA II or dayz standalone.. Definitely. It really doesn't have good specs whatsoever. Compared to gaming PCs, I've seen on a website the PS4 specs are in the neighborhood of a low-end CPU, and a low- to mid-range GPU. Arma is mostly CPU intensive as you may have noticed. The graphics and view distance will be brought down and that wouldn't be that great to be honest.

People don't realise the level of optimization developers can get on consoles.
The PS4 will perform at levels of a high end PC when the games are optimized right.
The PS4 specs are far from bad.

If you can, I would recommend turning off the lobby idle auto-kick. Letting people idle in the lobby makes the server more attractive since you can keep player numbers up (even if only slightly). People are drawn to populated servers.

Arma is more HD intensive than CPU.

An SSD would give you a bigger performance increase than a CPU would. I have played it on Core Duo/I5 and it only got real pretty when i got the SSD.

If this is the PS4 it will be fine.

As for the controls, i know people who play arma with PS pads so its not impossible. Just have to get used to it.

no.. not at all, I'm not sure if you wrote it wrong but there's no way a better hard drive or SSD would give better performance than a better CPU in any modern game...

Being sensible now , obviously its a combination of factors.
However, if you were to say one thing that would make the greatest improvement it would be an SSD. The Arma Series thrashes disk data like a good thing, a thing CPU's and RAM are built for, Mechanical hard drives are not as well equipped dues to crap seek times.

No i didnt write it wrong.

    i5/32gb/7870
    Core2/8gb/6870

Both PCs built for playing arma (the core being my old one). The game doubles in FPS on both machines when the SSD is introduced.

Arma only uses 2 cores, you can pick 4 but it wont use them. Its also limited by the ram limit on 32bit and there wont be a 64 bit anytime soon :( The disk usage is horrendous and tbh an SSD is a better investment than a CPU if you want Arma to run well.

Really old thread on BIS forums about I/O performance.
