God dammit Jesus. Did you have to die for our sins the week I ordered my Nexus?

    Damn you Easter holidays.

Just been doing some indoor up close testing with the nexus cam. (under artificial lighting with flash)

Nice balance all round considered (it's a phone camera)

    Here's one:

QI is a standard like WiFi, loads of cheap copies available as well as branded ones.

Any QI mat (or orb in the case of the N4) will work with any QI phone.

Only problem is that PMA may win the battle for wireless charging, its got McDonalds and Starbucks (where your going to use it) onboard and makes hardware rings to plug into your phone.

    powerkiss.jpg

Probably down to whoever Apple supports.

The Google orb takes 4 hours to charge the phone btw, which is awful!

hmmI think 4hrs is fine, would be using it over night anyway and/or top ups. Slower charging means happy battery.

Cant say I love the idea of having to connect my phone to something (I would have to carry around with me and possibly lose it) in order to charge it when with a mat I just place it on and away I go... Suppose the mats could be built into the table?

what's the distance on the rings?

Thanks to a member here, I picked up this phone during the week. He had ended up getting 2 as he had placed a second order presuming his first was cancelled. The phone was sealed and he also gave me the delivery docket with it.

I have used the phone for 3 days and it's just not for me. I've come from an iPhone and I just don't like Android unfortunately. As i've said, i've only used the phone for 3 days so it is in brand new condition. I've now put my sim back in my iPhone and i'm looking to sell the Nexus for what I paid for it. If anybody is interested, let me know.

I know this is slightly against the forum rules, so if the mods want me to remove it, that is no problem. I just thought i'd stick it up in here for members who are having a hard time getting their hands on this phone as the member who sold the phone to me did a good deed and didn't try sell it for a profit on Adverts like a lot of people, I thought I would pass on the good karma :)

I forgot to put in that this is a 16GB model

Ah flip order cancelled. Hadn't seen this thread until today and just used the sticky. Can we get rid of that??

So...I simply put in my order for 2 nexus 4s with flubit and they come back to me with a deal within a day? Then transfer the money to them using paypal and get them to send it to the NI parcel motel address? Yes??

Spot on! You put the PM address into the PayPal window that comes up when you're about to pay.

Ah sure, it might not have mattered. Cancellations have happened to many who have posted here even though a lot of them (including me) had seen the thread. Flubit is likely your best bet.

What's the best case/s to get it for it?

I'm ordering the official bumper, it looks like it must be the best quality of them even though you'd be paying about €20-25 for it. XtremeGuard screen protectors are also supposed to be the best out there (full body). If you use them in conjunction with the official bumper, you're phone will stay immaculate for longer.

Anyone got their hands on the wireless recharger yet? (I'm still waiting for my delivery btw, hoping tomorrow) http://www.theverge.com/2013/2/11/3977042/nexus-4-wireless-charging-orb-available

Hi, I got a QI model N 7 wireless charger. I'm using it to charge a nexus 4. Using the charger takes about 30 minutes longer to go from 28% to 98% for some reason the charger cuts out at 98% the manual explains this can happen with wireless charging. The QI might not be the ideal charger for the nexus as both have a shiny finish so the nexus can easily fall off the charger if its not on a dead flat surface. If you have a phone case more than 4mm thick the charger won't connect. Plus they say that you are not supposed to have anything (including a case) between the charger and phone as it can heat the item/case up and cause a fire hazard.

How long does it take for flubit to get back?

Usually the next day, all going well. Sometimes it can be the same day if you put a Demand in early enough but there's no real way to know as it depends on how busy they are, I suppose. No later than 48 hours, though.

Cheers. So when did you order your nexus? I don't want to get excited about it just yet.

Ordered on Tuesday evening just after 6. They say it'll ship sometime this week because I emailed them to ask. They wrote back also mentioning a high demand for the devices and the bank holiday weekend slowing things down.

god's toy got his from Flubit, I believe. Can't remember when he ordered it (it might mention it some pages back). As soon as any movement occurs on my order, I will post about it. So far it's there has been no change since Tuesday due to the aforementioned reasons so it's still waiting to be shipped, but Flubit have taken my money, as the transaction appears on my statement. On top of all that, Flubit know about Parcel Motel as they recommend Irish customers to use it on their site, so you don't need to hide behind a VPN or worry they will get suspicious of the address being used over and over by different people when you deal with them.

I wouldn't hold your breadth I ordered mine on the 20th of March (7 days before you) and it still hasn't shipped yet! I was told I'd get a tracking number on Friday but never got one. Two full weeks tomorrow since I placed my order.

Ah we'll see what happens. I'll persistently nag them if I must.

Have you been on to them about it recently? Surely you've paid for it, now it's time for them to deliver (literally).

Was on to them Friday and told its next in line to go and should ship within 24 hours. But I was also told that last Tuesday and heard nothing. Will have to wait and see. Taking the pi$$ a little at this stage I think.

Only thing that's keeping me sane is that I likely will have a nexus 4 at the end of it.
The uncertainty with google orders was the worst bit.

Flubit aren't perfect, I know. I've been on to them about the official Bumper case. The problem is, their system adds £9.99 for shipping on every item from Google Play. The case ships for £5.99. The lady that my support ticket was assigned to told me to put in another demand and it would be alright. So I did and it wasn't. Then she told me to do it again because their system is locked to add £9.99 shipping and that they'd apply the £4 difference into the offer. That didn't work either. I'm on my 5th demand now. I know it's only £4 but it's the principle of the matter, because their reduced offer on the item plus the £9.99 shipping adds up to more than you pay on Google Play. :P

It's worth noting that I haven't heard a peep since Thursday since the bank holiday weekend began on Friday, she must have been off. I am expecting a reply tomorrow.

I think the delay is due to the nature of the item. I might try it one more time
for something less desirable but if this whole two week wait is a standard thing
Ill be back to Amazon in no time. No 4% - 10% saving is worth that.

FYI they were in the office on Friday as I got two E-mails back from them.

Maybe not everyone was there and the rep assigned to me was off on the lash!

I'm not ready to give up those sweet discounts just yet... I'll ask them for an update tomorrow.

Would it work if you got someone in the uk to make a gmail a/c for you and order it from there?

My flubit demand was rejected, said they couldn't find the product.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42 tinytina

I was told by Flubit that my order shipped on Thursday, and was given a tracking code which indicates that the phone landed in Dublin on Friday. No update since then, hasn't hit the ParcelMotel yet either.

On an old handset that is barely functional as my previous new iPhone was stolen. Starting to think I should have just repurchased an iPhone, getting very fed up waiting..... Any other Limerick people who thought theirs was in transit at the end of last week actually receive them yet?

I got an email Thursday stating it was dispatched but got no tracking number. I have heard nothing since.

 You should try Flubit again. What you just said is no different to creating a UK Gmail over a VPN. It may work and it may not, but you might be led down the garden path for ages before you finally know whether they'll ship the order or not.

I have a feeling that Flubit are too being screwed by Google and it's probably not Flubit's fault that people are being left waiting.

Just going to keep trying everything! One of them will eventually work :)

Good stuff. Is it possible that you used a bad link on Flubit before? There's no reason otherwise for them to reject your demand, unless their system is playing up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42 tinytina

Tracking number says my phone was in Dublin on 28th. Contacted Flubit today who seem to think that means it was delivered on 28th - so I am seriously hoping this does not turn into saga of missing phone. My patience is at its end.

Nope, used the link from this thread and even when I clicked on it in the cancelled demand it brought me to the right page.
