Oh noooo BEST thing I did was get over the S3, its clunky and slow where the nexus is just soooo darn fast and slick!
I have no idea what you did to your s3 to make it slow :p
It's far faster than anything you could throw at it on mobile, and will be for a couple more years. The nexus isn't really an upgrade to the s3, more of a side-grade. I agree the nexus would outlast the s3 but by the time that it matters, I will have a phone much better than either of these phones, so it doesn't really matter at all now about ram etc? There is no issue doing anything on either phone, and won't be for some time.

The removable battery, camera (it's better than my actual camera!), more screenspace with hardware buttons and sd slots are what make me choose the s3. As for OTG vs sd card, as somebody that develops on android and uses OTG cables all day every day, they are a PITA compared to an sd card. Both great phones with different pros/cons.

    Hey,

Want a Nexus 10 from the play store but a little worried about all the stories about light bleed, general build quality etc, Anyone have any experience sending either a N4 or N10 back to google if ordered via the parcelmotel route?

    Thanks.
Maybe get it from amazon so you could deal with them? You could also get it through flubit. Amazon would have good customer service.

How much are the 16gb and 32gb on the play store?

The chip in the Nexus 10 cant handle the resolution of the screen. Wait for the next release.
Really? never heard anybody say that, of anybody I know with them, all they can go on about is how great it is, and the amazing screen. Many bad reports about this? When this tablet goes down in price it will be unreal, it's already fairly cheap for what it is.

The problem with the Nexus 10 is that it's WiFi only, which is fine if you're not planning to take it anywhere and everywhere. A better option, if you want to stick with a pure Nexus Android experience is to get the Nexus 7 3G. It's still quite an excellent tablet and for a price that won't be matched. If you don't need 3G, the WiFi Nexus 7 is cheaper than a bag of chips from your local chipper, or more importantly, cheaper than even the Nexus 4 (which is the same price as the Nexus 7 3G currently).

However, if you have your heart set on a 10", try another Android tablet (preferably with 3G if you need portable connectivity), if you want my advice. As I always say: F*ck Apple.
Just want to reiterate that this is not a con. Using your phone to tether works perfectly and is free, as you already pay for it. I have unlimited data but use under a gig every month, using the net every day. It's just because you are on wifi so often that you don't use as much as you think.

Had no idea what they were. I thought they made a mistake so did the honest thing and rang them up, turns out it wasn't a mistake and I won a golden offer. Half the google price + shipping. :D

Fair play! Flubit sounding better and better every day. Bought an xperia z ( which I must say is class!) as I have in waiting for cancelled orders with google play but if had heard of flubit in time would have gone with them but kinda glad as well I didn't as motivated me to get the xperia. Well done though on your golden offer. What a class piece of kit for absolutely nothing price wise

Did you use a vpn to view the link on the play store in the first place? i jsut want the link so I can stick it into flubit, that's hassle!

How much is it on google play?

What did I do to make it slow? Nothing, in fact I formatted both phones at the same time to make sure. Evein tested on my wife's S3 to make really sure! The S3 is just slow next to the Nexus full stop. It's a fantastic phone in its own way but having used two, It is just slower to do most things and keeps tripping up over its self trying to get things done. firing up apps, retrieve web pages and general day today use all feels slower and the battery does not last as long, just run intensive apps like 3dmark on it and see it die, then look at what phones are near the top. Oh and let's not for get most of the ram being used up running the Sware.... Only 100 odd mb left? Really? Not forgetting the age it takes to get software updates from Sammy too...
Say what you want for sammy, but this nexus feels light years ahead of the janky wreck that is the S3.

330euro on google play roughly and ten pounds delivery. :D

Oh and btw, while doing my research I found out Flubit's CEO is none other than Neville Longbottom.

Having used both I disagree that one is slower than the other, as do all the reviews? If your phone is lagging there are all sorts of user settings that can cause it (I know in this case it was formatted). I've used both of these and a better phone, all seemed the same really for lag, as in there was none.

If you look at reviews you will see that either phone can die first. So I don't get the battery argument either, my s3 has never been off once since I've owned it. So I can't say you could call it an issue. The thing I like about it is that for a few euro you can just have another full battery in your wallet anyway. Also if you are flashing on roms, you need to be able to remove the battery, nexus can't.

I like that you can get an update fast on the nexus all right, I think both have advantages, I just think you're kidding yourself saying it's a wreck when it's one of the best phones that exist? It's a bit wider and longer yes but it's also thinner, lighter, has a bigger screen and has much better cameras (nexus camera is pretty bad). expandable storage, removable battery and so on. But it's a **** phone? I think both phones are awesome, and can see the advantages to either, it's nonsense to say it is a wreck.

I see...I guess nothing I can say will make any difference so I won't bother. I know what I got in my results and I know what is it like living with two S3 phones and the Nexus 4 I'll leave it at the that.

    Not in all cases.
Most newer phones, S3 included, if your phone crashes you can hold down the power button for 30 seconds for a hard reset.
    Removable battery is just quicker.

Right so turns out I have 4 on the way now. My google order shipped despite me cancelling it. and then I have the two from flubit. Would gladly give them on to someone here at whatever it would have cost on the google site.

Ha, well he isn't the actual Neville himself. But upon further research he was just the actor's stand in. :)

3 weeks is only about 12 working days though with the bank holidays, so not too bad. I was looking for a micro sim too.

    their estimation!

Thanks for the link but i have a nano sim. Will have to have it replaced ;)

2 more calls and emails to Flubit and it turns out that after Google gave Flubit the shipping confirmation on Wed night, Google cancelled the order - no shipment.

Flubit offered either full refund or a £55 goodwill credit AND to reorder on my behalf tonight at the original offer price. Needless to say I went with this alternative, just hope it comes soon.

100% what happened to me. I took the £55 and allowed them to reorder. Fingers crossed. It seems, according to Fireworks (I give them a call), that Google treat them just as badly as they treat us. It's so unpredictable.

    Just got this in now:
As discussed today on the phone I apologise that you have not received your order.

The order was placed with Google Play and we received a dispatch notice to see it was being prepared for dispatch.

When I contacted them today to chase up the tracking information the supplier informed me that the order had not been dispatched and had been cancelled

I have placed the order and have been advised it will be dispatched early next week.

I have transferred you £55.00 in compensation for the delay and will keep you advised

    Best regards

Now, we wait. It's really bad that Google consider this as appropriate customer service.

Yeah that's quite normal. Tracking takes a while to show anything initially.

Strange whats been happening to the orders. I hope that the ones I ordered from google come now as I have a couple of people looking for the spares. I have tracking number, so hope that means they are def coming.
