I could make a KFC-related joke there but I'd be a bit ashamed of myself :pac:

Heh, phonebox? Don't want to know what you were doing in there :P Their food is nommy though.

I don't want to go to work today. I'm going out tonight and have nothing to wear, so far more pressing things than silly work on my agenda >:(

It took me ages to go to sleep last night. Then wankey neighbour boy started trying to kick his door in again. It didn't last long but woke me up and it took me ages to go back asleep.

Not in a good mood this morning in general.

Anybody have any great plans for the weekend?

Also, if they had the flu, they'd have hardly been able to crawl into work.

Ask them how the antibiotics are working.

I've only had the proper flu once a few years ago, and yeah you feel like death, ache in every place you can ache, room was spinning constantly, its like the worst hangover ever times a million. knocks you on your ass for a couple of weeks not a day or two.

I know I've said this here before but my boyfriend always says if you had the actual flu you wouldn't be able to bend down to pick up €20 if you found it in front of you. People seem to love saying they have the flu when they have like 3 sniffles!

Hope you feel better soon. Tis a lovely day out there. :)

I woke up in sweats last night. Don't know why?! :o The scary comic wasn't that scary.

I'm being boring this weekend. Gym and meeting a friend later. Then college work for the rest of the weekend. Don't particularly like St. Patrick's Day so doesn't bother me.

Do you actually take anti bios for flu? I didn't think they could do anything
I hate that as well though, "I have a bit of flu, snuffle"
Listen up lady I've had flu and you're nowhere near it especially since you're standing there chatting to me so stfu!

    I mean... morning all :D
gettin my hair did today, and singing rehearsal soon, really need to start practising
Nope you don't take anti-bios for the flu (antibios only work for bacteria). (Saying that, when you get the flu, you can often get secondary bacterial infections, so some people with real flu will be taking antibios). It was kind of a joke for the sort of people that think a few sniffles is the flu, and go to the doctor demanding antibios.

Yeah I had the flu a single time when I was 10 or 11. I remember having to crawl from the bedroom to the bathroom, I was too week to walk the few metres. Knocked me out.

The big thing that bugs me about these snifflers moaning about the flu is that it makes it very difficult for people taking genuine sick days.

So very depressed this weekend. Just want to curl up in bed and cry. Was hoping to go and see my dad but because of money and other issues I can't see him :( Will prob be the summer before I see him next.

Wish the weekend was over so I could get back to college and have something to focus on, instead of sitting around thinking.

They couldn't possibly be that bad! Big glasses are fashionable now.

I started wearing glasses when I was about 8 (have since had laser eye surgery) and had a few glasses disasters in my time.

I remember trying on frames as a child which was always pointless as I couldn't see how I looked in the mirror cause I needed fecking glasses! I was too shy to tell the shop assistant that I couldn't see so I'd go along with it when they told me I looked lovely.

Then when I'd get my new glasses with lenses in, I'd realise how ugly they were but it would be too late to do anything. :(

I can't believe my parents let me out looking like that. Huge glasses and a tiny face. I see the photos now and I cringe!

Rehearsal went crap. Was also reminded that there'll be people there who do singing full time and while I knew I was never going to actually compete in this feis, I'm just doing it for experience, I'm starting to freak out that I'll be the worst one there
    aghhhhhh
But you have a lovely voice! Also, if you are doing the Feis for experience, there are bound to be other people doing exactly the same thing, so there will be plenty of "part-time" singers.

I will study today - and it shall be productive (as in I won't sit starting at the same page for 4 hours.....)
Not like I wanted to watch the rugby or anything....

also good luck bluewolf! There will be lots of people there like you looking for experience :) I remember having to do competitions for piano when I was younger and I was terrified that I'd suck or that some 8 year old mozart would play before me and make me look bad- Took me a while to figure out that most people were just having a go just like me and that I had nothing to lose by trying :) Good luck!

I'm studying too! I've actually found some motivation! I think it came from the shock I got about how much work I have to do :(

No paddys day celebrations for me :(

Good luck with the study scholarly ladies.

xLexie, I'd actually love to wear glasses, I think they are very very sexy! How you doin'? ;)

Bluewolf - I think you're mad to be nervous, you sounded great in the clip you posted here.

    I swam. :D

(with a spaghetti float thing, so it doesn't really count :( )

Thank you. No I'm not taking lessons, I'm a bit nervous in water, so when I took lessons I just couldn't make myself do anything! She would say "Ok everybody relax forward " And I'd think "NO WAY!". So now I'm spending time messing around trying to get over my silly fear at my own pace. So far I can float on my back with the spagetti float, and now I can float forward with it, but I still haven't built up the courage to loosen my grip, so I'm kind of swimming in circles using just my legs :o

It also takes me a few mins to get into it. When I first get to the pool I'm like a limpet on my poor husband. Hopefully if we go every week by the end of next month I'll be a bit more confident.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 938 ✭✭✭Ice Storm

Sounds like a good idea to build up your confidence first until you are more comfortable in the water.

Swimming is great. I keep meaning to go but never seem to find the time. I went to lessons a while ago to improve but everyone in the group was at different stages so they weren't so good.

Fair play to you for facing your fear.

Ah that's a bit of a pain, so long as you can survive if you fall overboard it's great though. Amazing how many people can't swim!
