I reckon that Frankenweenie should have won best picture, never mind animated feature. I loved that film, a film with something to say about science deniers, intolerance, that is okay to be different and much to say on the subject of zombie pets.

Looking to source a gamecube gameboy player! They're fairly expensive by the looks of it. Would a NTSC one work with freeloader?

I picked up a NTSC 'cube at a market last year for less than a tenner, turned out it included a Gameboy Player as well!
No boot disk though, so I bought a PAL boot disk and it works like a dream.
This was, however with a PAL GC, I sold on the NTSC GC.
So, pick up a Gameboy Player from anywhere you like, make sure the boot disk for it matches the region of the GC and you're laughing!
You can pick up solitary boot disks on eBay for cheap money.

I thought Brave is one of the best things Pixar have done in a long time.

Wasn't mad about Paranorman, very little actually happens in it and it has the feel of suffering from too many Hollywood rewrites. Final act is pretty good though.

    I've yet to see Frankenweenie.

If I were buying this it'd be to leave it sealed, in the hopes that in a good few years it'll have sold in such small numbers that in might actually be worth something collection wise.

It could be A&R's new 'The Tower' fad :D

Yeah, I might do the same as an investment. Low Nintendo console sales and sealed always means money.

I did like the look of the thing though, kinda wanted to pick one up to use too.

It does look pretty snazzy alright. But with no RGB & no internet capabilities I think I could fight the temptation to open it up :) I wonder how much it'll work out at?

    I'll guess £79.99 and €99.99

It worked out at £62 in Canada.

So probably €120 over here

They'd definitely have to keep it under the €100 mark for it to sell. On GameStop's website the wii is selling for €140 with a game so I'd hope it wouldn't be €120! I'll see what the sterling price will be. Probably will end up getting one though.

Yeah, given a standard Wii costs little more than that it seems a tad overpriced.
But then, for the few that are yet to own a Wii, it's a fairly cheap way to play some blinding games, the Metroid Trilogy disk for starters.

There's an upswing of it being expensive, means even less will sell. So maybe you'll see a bigger return on your investment if they whack a few extra quid on it :D

Just realized, if it's composite only and we did import NTSC ones, it would be black and white land for us all. Unless you have a fancy CRT which supports NTSC signals too.

Maybe they'll include RGB when converting it to PAL...

That moment where you realize that for some reason, the graphics card on your PC has been disabled for a very long time - and you never noticed.

Shows you how many games I play on the thing!

Is it bad that I'm thinking of getting one just to jailbreak it and have it on the main TV?

Even though I have a launch model hooked up in the bedroom (which admittedly these days is a glorified Netflix client).

Amazon had it listed at £103.56 but have since dropped it to £79.99.

The fact that it doesn't have a network connection makes it a bit useless. Would have thought it would be a cheap way for Nintendo to get their online store into peoples living rooms.

I wonder if the Wii USB Lan adapter would work on it?

    Apparently not.

"Of course, the cheap $99 price tag means that Nintendo had to make some sacrifices. Most notably is the fact that the Wii Mini has no way to connect to the Internet. The Wi-Fi has been removed, and it can’t make use of a wired connection through a USB to ethernet port either."

I can understand removing the WiFi adapter for cost/cut down reasons...but to intentionally cripple the use of an exterior part like the Lan adapter makes no sense. It uses the same OS as the Wii ffs, it works unless you tell it not to.
