So when did Dead Space become so good that it got itself an article as a 'future classic' in Retrogamer? I played it and enjoyed it but future classic, I don't think so. It's a big rip off of Resident Evil 4 and System Shock 2 (it started out as a system shock game as well) and other than the anti gravity sections it was very derivative. Blasting limbs off enemies isn't that big of a change to going for head shots. It got pretty boring towards the end after a solid opening and had that awful asteroids section. It got 7's and 8's on release and I think they were spot on. It was a fun game that managed to capitalise when Resident Evil dropped the ball.

I'd be thinking along the same lines when it comes to dead Space 1 although even if it did steal every idea under the sun it worked and Dead Space 2 turned out to be a freaking masterpiece. Little disappointed in 3 because they had got it so right with 2 but went and messed with it.

The Asteroids section was a pain in the ****

Isn't that implicit joke of DS? Even with the introduction of the hero you know this is going to be as derivative as the name "Issac Clarke", a portmanteau of a game, Resi 4/SS2? Eventhorizon/Alien?

Fyp. Its something that absolutely wrecks my head I have to be honest, I find myself wanting to close the video really before it even begins. Also, speaking of American YouToobers, watch how much time they can take up with all their shout outs & utter tripe talking before the actual content or subject of the video begins...its unreal.

Yes I know I'm blanketing all Americans with my rant, its not just Americans obviously...they mostly do it though....mostly.

You can change your address afterward. Keep an eye on your Paypal address too as it can cause confusion.

Bit short notice but we will be recording at 3pm tomorrow. Let us know if you can make it so we can pick a topic around who we have.

Well I know I was asked recently by a seller which address I wanted to use as the eBay was set to parcel motel and my Paypal was still my home address. Not ever seller may spot that.

I'll find out soon enough, do they have an address that doesn't say parcel motel?

Has anyone found a more elegant solution to downloading stuff on 3DS on UPC other than a) turn off the router firewall entirely or b) buy another router? It's a real pain.

I did manage - with the help of Spotpass - to get Liberation Maiden, Crimson Shroud and the Castlevania Mirror of Fate demo downloaded. The former is great - crazy, explosive mecha game (you play the teenage president of post-apocalyptic Japan, just because). Haven't played CS yet. The Castlevania game has literally the worst frame rate I've seen in a high-profile release in a long, long time. Must average around 20FPS, if even.

Paypal wouldn't allow me to change my default address to the UK ParcelMotel address, so have both IRL and UK Ebay addresses and only the IRL Paypal address.

Only ever had a problem with 1 seller who questioned why the Paypal and Ebay address differed.

Watch out if you set your default Ebay address to your Parcel Motel address and you buy for an Irish seller though :)

Well, it ain't the first Konami game on 3DS to have such a low frame rate.

    FYP

You should definitely give Crimson Shroud a go, it's wonderful. More RPGs should be as lean and filler free.

I've heard bad things about the castlevania demo, the HG101 guys are saying it's utterly terrible (although a lot of these guys hate Lord of Shadows, not an amazing game but still good, so there might be a fanboy element).

Sonic '06 at that. Best game of the lot.

    Awesome... brilliant game. Very under-rated.

It's OK, but the frame rate is a bit of a killer considering it is heavily based around twitchy combat and blocking. I wish they'd just make games a little uglier if it makes for better frame-rates - the whole game seems to be running in a terribly wasteful 3D engine (cutscenes show the whole environment mapped, not just the 2.5D plane). Too early to call the structure of the game based on the demo, although there does seem to be a heavy exploratory element to it.

Also a reminder why the shoulder buttons of the 3DS need either some sort of softer coating or at least a more finger-friendly curve!

Well a blogger from Hg101 I'd trust more had more positive opinions on the game. The original game had woeful framerate problems as well maybe it's a problem with the developmemt team. If you are going to go 2.5D it's quite easy to fake a lot of things to speed up the frame rate with no visual ramifications.

A skip, that's exactly where all of Gamestop threw their old Xbox and GC games some 5 years ago.
I know, because I got to root through the boxes before the terrible event and snaffle away as much as I could carry!
I wonder what's in the skip these days?
