whellman, welcome to the city and the forum.
This "Friends" thread is used by new and old alike to arrange meets and/or general chat.

Btw, another boards' forum, After Hours, will have a meet soon in Galway. You can read about it here.

It's looking like June for that beers, Biko. We'll have to get another one going on here in the meantime. ;)

I got absolutely hammered last weekend after the soccer game so will lay low this one I think.
But if someone wants to suggest some dates/venues feel free to start a thread.

just wondering what kind of hobbies/ interests people have as it could be another way to create events.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,711 ✭✭✭Redhairedguy

Go Karting is always a good one. Either in the Liosbaun Industrial Estate, or out in Tynagh, near Loughrea. (Which would also open events to our oft forgotten brothers and sisters in the County forum).

I drive, and would happily offer a lift for up to 3 people, assuming you're not the murderous hitch hiker type of course...

Well, that's just discrimination. Murderous hitch hiker types need some love too, yknow?

I know. The only problem is that when they try to steal my heart, they do actually mean it literally.

    Dont forget leaving you breathless.

On topic, good to see people are still meeting!

I'd go for a few beers this weekend.

My head is melted hittin the books and I'm in the house by myself for the last 2 weeks, starting to get some serious cabin fever.

Plus I missed out on the last one I remember being on around Galway due to work!

Darko, I'm up for a few Friday.
Do they still serve beer at the bowling Headford Road?

Ah crap, cancel that. I had a wisdom tooth taken out today. Best I stay off beer and smokes for a while...
And then in two weeks it's time to pull another one. I won't be right until mid May.

There's still a bar there in the Planet anyway. Generally the person working there is zipping between that and the front desk though so you're waiting a bit sometimes which can be awkward when you're in a game as well.

Not sure about tomorrow but I'll definitely be heading for a few on Saturday. Biko drinking alcohol isn't necessary in order to attend, a coffee is more than acceptable.

There is a beers on the 22nd in O'Connells for After Hours forum. There will be a tonne of boardsies there and hardly anyone knows each other so you'll fit right in. I expect some from this forum will meet for a quiet pint and chat before heading over to O'C (I will anyway).
