the ones the show on sky and espn.

it looks like al jazeera have stopped their spl coverage. nothing this year so far anyway.

You need sky sports for that. I mean without signing up to sky. I mean one of the cheap foreign ones without buying a new dish and box.

    Wat u talkin' bout Willis??

Nope. Only other channel I can find that shows it is Orange Sport in Poland. This is Polish only so no Mike Goldberg or Joe Rogan. For some that is an improvement lol

Hahaha Cheers Lertsnim i think they are ok..US Sports presenters are all on a different planet in fairness!! This card is looking good..renewals seem reasonable but how much is it if Im buying my first card lads??

Have a look at jsc-cards.com. Cheapest by a mile

    Wat u talkin' bout Willis??

Is there a way to receive SPL or even EPL using an old sky box and dish?

Sign up to Sky Sports is ruled out for cost.

Not using a Sky box unfortunately.

And not realistic using a "Sky dish" either.
Its a bit too small and pointed in the wrong place.

Sky Italia Sport Versus Al Jazeera which is the best overall?? My interests would be all european football Golf and Rugby Rugby League and UFC

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,936 ✭✭✭lertsnim

Sky Italia show all of the above except for maybe rugby league. UFC PPV is actually PPV in Italy though

I will be buying a card in February when my house is built..Im just wondering if Al Jazeera have signed any new deals recently with NFL(?) or any of the europen football leagues for the next few seasons? Al Jazeera Wiki page hasnt been updated in a while! I also see on the jsc-cards website you can add ESPN package for €25 has anybody got this? is it UK or US ESPN?
    cheers

It is ESPN in the Middle East. You wont get that here as it's not on Hotbird. I am sure ESPN America have the NFL tied up in the Middle East for a few more years so that wont be on Al Jazeera any time soon.

This was posted today on satpimps, don't know where the info originated but it wouldn't be great news.

Al Jazeera Sport cards to cease in 2013

I've heard that all JSC sport renewals will expire on Dec 31st 2013. This is because Al Jazeera are releasing an encrypted HD receiver on 1st Jan 2014. I can't find anything on their website but it does make sense. The middle east EPL viewing rights for 2013-16 should have been awarded in September, but instead Abu Dhabi Sports have a 12 months contract extension.

Al Jazeera have the money to take over the EPL but the fact that the signal can be so easily picked up in UK will go against them. Maybe it will only work on 26 east & 7 west. Either way so long as it's a similar price to Abu Dhabi Sports & the quality is just as good I'll be happy.

Great FA cup coverage today on al jazeera. Near enough every channel carrying a game.

Just had a look at the schedule..great line up today seria A+La Liga+French Cup+FA Cup. 11 games (possibly had the Newcastle game on earlier also)

Any further news on the sports cards ceasing in 2013? Moving into new house in February wondering if it will be worth the sub!!?

Absolutely m8 - it's a great little pack..... In 2014 I'd imagine that JSC will only be available in the UK & Ire on something like the below though.......

If they do leave it on 13e, I'll buy one of there HD boxes.

I will not have a back garden big enough for one of those!! lol Why do you think they are going off 13e ? British/European sports providers pressure!!?

    Just a hunch & I hope it's wrong!

FAPL don't want another Arabian provider with 380 live games becoming easily available to us folk here or in the U.K.....

Just can't see it staying on 13e imo

I have a sub to aljazeerasport.tv and it's grand, doubt it will be going anywhere in 2014. AD have an online service too and the PL seem to be fine with it as it's restricted to ME/North Africa IPs like aljazeerasport.tv.

I'm hoping someone will create a program for the Vu or even an XBMC app that will let you view the streams on your TV using your subscription. I believe there is an official app from them that lets you watch on an iphone/ipad but that's useless to me.

Thinking about purchasing a new satellite and receiver to watch sport and Al Jazeera looks like the best option. Any update on them moving from 13e next year ? I’m new to this so if I spend the money this year will it be worthless next year or can it be picked up from another satellite ?

BPH best bet is a motorised set up and a little ingenuity.

Thanks for the update. I'm planning to use a Technomate TM2600 motor system to drive a 80cm dish. Anything bigger would be too big for the house, and also get a Technomate TM5300D. Does this sound good ?

Are you sure you cant have a 1.1m dish - really they are not that big

and when you say you want to watch sports on Al-Jazeera, do you know specificallly what sports you want to watch? You know Al-Jazeera does not show Premier League?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 232 ✭✭BPH

I want to watch rugby and Spanish & Premiership soccer. Not sure about the 1.1m dish. I presume this would make a big difference ! Can you recommend a system for me that would enable me to watch rugby and soccer. I'd pay for a subscription card if needed but if it available for free that would be better again.

Dont know about Rugby but my suggestion for Premiership Football is with a Cyfra Card for Canal on Hotbird. So you would only need a 80cm dish for that and you can buy the card from www.satskelp.pl

I think that there is some free premiership football on PLTV on Eutelsat but you would defintly need a 1meter plus dish for that but I dont know if that will last for long

Guranteed footie on Sat, Sun and Midweek with Cyfra

Word is already leaking out on some of the arab forums. Whether its true.......

New proprietary box (based upon Hummy ICord Entavio) with Hardware ID married to card and the ethernet port disabled.

Speculation is that 13E will not carry the supposed 8 HD Channels - with an optional 2 3D channels and four more HD channels and more likely 7W and/or 26E.
