    Hullo,

Here's the essentials: impoverished collector, Nintendo fanboy (with a particular hard-on for SNES) and someone with a love for the obscure

Now, what do I need to know about Boulder Dash?

Sparks you should do a few superplays so the rest of us could see how good you are. No doubt your name is on Twin Galaxies somewhere. :pac::pac:

Meh. It's nothing unless we get to see a kill screen.

...Screen 1 in Santry is a crackingly large screen and where it's at on the North Side of the 'Smoke to be sure.
I enjoyed the Lighthouse No1 as well, but that place has a sense of occasion, especially at The Dark Knight Rises at 5am!

Santry 1 is good alright. Also The Savoy screen one, which is huge, or the big boy (screen one) in Liffey valley, which is (I think) the biggest screen in the country, south of the border at least.
Well, as long as I can wish for a turkey sandwich that isn't dry, I'm alright.

Careful, you might get a zombie sandwich....or even a cursed frogurt...(that's bad!)

Lighthouse are showing all the Lord of the Rings films back to back next month in the run up to the Hobbit coming out.

The Screen are trying to go one better and are showing the extended versions!

Now that's a challenge. Took me over a week to watch them at home.

Ah The Screen. Where the walls are so thin you can usually hear the adjacent screen if a character has the cheek to talk loudly. I want to like that cinema given its underdog status, but it's easily the least technically adept city centre cinema. Although hopefully they've finally gotten over their habit of merely projecting DVDs for classic screenings!

Could the karaoke stuff not have been hooked up to a tv? The poor E3 probably felt violated after that. :(

It's Lips on the 360 so she uses the one I've hooked up to the cab. She's not allowed to touch the Star Wars 360 in the man cave :)

Does anyone have any idea about modding RGB cables? I just want to be sure before I make a mistake and become RGB-less.

My problem is the PoS TV I've inherited off my brother. The remote broke and I can't find a universal remote that will let me change the aspect ratio and I can't do it from the buttons on the TV.

The problem with RGB is that it sends a signal to the TV to automatically choose widescreen. I was wondering if I removed the wire connecting the pin that carried this information would I end up stopping the screen going to widescreen? I can get the original aspect ratio with composite since it doesn't automatically go to widescreen. My worry is that I think that this wire also tells the TV to engage RGB mode and I don't want to be left with a crappy composte cable.

Isn't that the 5v thats fed into the tv to enable RGB in the first place though? My CRT does the exact same thing, every time I switch on a console, I've to use the remote to fix the aspect ratio. Nuisance, but such is life.

Yeah that's the worry. I think I might have to feed a different voltage to the pin but then it's another kettle of bull**** altogether. Really frustrating because I can't play most of my consoles now because of it, I hate playing games in the wrong aspect ratio.

What make/model of tv is it?

    Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

My tv always does this and it drives me mad. I thought it was just how the TV itself worked. Didn't realize RGB forces it. Nice to have a reason as to why it's happening.

    MIRAI DTL832E600

My brother left it behind and my parents took my gorgeous LG 32 inch. There's a guy on ebay that sells remotes he says are electronic replicas of the remotes, I just got one off him this morning and it's the same as the universal remote, no way to change aspect ratio.
