For anyone else with low FPS.
Go into your user options.ini file and reduce render distance to 1000.
Default is -1.000000 which apparently is infinity so your card is trying to render to infinity.
1000 gave me a boost of 30+ fps and now its playable (but Im still crap at it so it wasnt the fps)

Few tips I can give for new players:
H - bigger minimap with more area covered
B - Changes fire mode on the gun (auto/single shot etc.)
Buy 1 point in Nanoweave armor (10% more health) for 1 cert and equip it; you're most likely to die from enemy infantry fire and 1 cert for 10% more health is a good start as you'll want to go down that tree anyway.
Oh and buy up grenades early and keep them stocked as it uses resources to buy and you'll gain up more resources over time

Just wondering if someone could explain the resources bit to me:p
Do i just get them over time depending on how many areas my empire has control over? Or is it dependant on how much i play?0 -

Haven't played an FPS for a while (much less an MMO), first couple of hours were gruelling, there's a lot to learn. Also, Counter-Strike and TF2 have mostly made me forget TKing was a thing. That's been a painful one.
It's addictive though and I'm really getting into it Playing Vanu on Woodman. The Tron-esque music in the menu was the primary driver of this decision. 0 -

As long as your side holds the zone and you're online you'll get that resource every couple of minutes along with all other zones your side holds. So yes, you get the resources simply for being online (and no resources are added if you're not). A trick is if you quickly need to stock up on a specific resource is to jump to the map which your side has most land on to stock it up faster 0 -
