Ya,my mother went around the house too quick there last year and the glass fell out of the mirror driverside wing because she hit the corner of the house.

And then her car hasn't been serviced in the last 120,000 miles. She claims "why get new things for it, if its going good!?" I really don't know how its still going though. :pac:

Ya didn't pick it up off the stones so!

What sort of car survives 120000 miles without a service?

Has the oil and filters ever been changed?

    a toyota, thats what :P

I guess it depends on how the car is driven....

Years ago (feck it is years ago at this stage ) a friend of mine bought a mint 1.4 corolla. At the time was a lovely car for a young fella to start off in, showroom condition with just 85k miles. But he never minded it. His idea of an oil change was topping it with oil as it was either losing or burning it at an alarming rate! Just one of many things that happened with it, probably due to.... Negligence

Sadly for him, the car was a wreck in no time. What a waste :(

ah yeah maintainance is key really (particularly if you drive a 406d :pac:). them 1.4 vvtis dont take well to not being maintained unlike the 13 it replaced.

It was the way it was being driven too, it didn't take well to boy racer style driving...

It's not so much maintainance more predicting what will go wrong next :pac::pac::pac:

You dont need a dipstick to change oil and besides, the Oil needs to be changed, it doesnt just give up degrading because it knows your dipstick is "broke" (how is it broke)?

Prolly totally ruined now engine wise anyhow.

But you need to see where the oil goes up too.

The dip stick is broke in half. I lost the bit that broke off as well.

i can imagine you, arms outstretched over the bonnet and wing, ear pushed up to the side of the car... "whats that 406, your tail lights are hurting... only 1 cure for that, engine out!"

And there's my car getting serviced every 7500 miles for the last 3 years, and every 15 before that. 120000 without anything:eek::eek:
