And there's my car getting serviced every 7500 miles for the last 3 years, and every 15 before that. 120000 without anything:eek::eek:

    Every 15 miles?

Now that's a bit OTT! :pac:

    75km? Driving?
Hi there, this is 2012. Let me introduce you to this thing called eBay. You can source parts here and the Postal Service, which has been in operated here since the 19th century (or something) will do the rest.

You may have missed it when eringobragh posted above, but you measure the Oil amount that needs to go in, the Dipstick is only used for fine tuning and general checking over time. Therefore, you dont need a Dipstick to change oil.

Some breakers will also take payment over the phone and post/deliver parts.

That's an annoyance in my opinion. I don't like placing that much faith in a sensor. There should be a dipstick for people that care about their car. In 99.999% of cases I'm sure it's ideal but you need more visibility on something so essential.

Oh no, I did see it. But I just trying to think if we have an oil can or no. I think we do though. :)

EDIT: seen your edit about the yaris micra. But would that work? as in would the oil tank be the same same as the yaris one? Also could it give a wrong reading?

Use Ebay.co.uk or Ebay.de for car parts... We arent exactly a "car country" here in .IE !

My point exactly. Sensors are known to go wrong, nothing to go wrong with a good old dipstick. That is unless you break it in half and can't tape it back together and don't want to use a clothes hanger instead :pac:

    Maybe try this:

you just need to message the relevant seller breaking the car and he'll send you the part

Much as I hate the phrase a bit of "out of the box" thinking wouldn't go amiss here.

Find out the oil capacity of the car. Buy said amount of oil. Drain existing oil and put correct amount of new oil in the car? To be on the safe side and sure you are not overfilling, maybe reduce the amount by 10 - 15% due to the amount of crap that potentially won't drain out?
