Does getting it out for the Christmas market not matter? Surely that would be a boost to sales

Doesn't matter when it's released, it will sell by the bucketload.

Might get a few pics on Friday. Hopefully. Let's face it, GTA V isn't going to be released this year.

    Why friday?

There was a few on Friday three weeks ago, and they said 'More in a few weeks'. Just conjecture really.

Here's an article I just read:

    http://gamingillustrated.com/gta-5-rumor-roundup/
various media outlets are guessing the release date somewhere in May 2013 as the game purportedly still needs about 6 months to be fully developed. This may come as a surprise to some who were expecting a late 2012 release for the Christmas season
    So Christmas 2013!

From listening to (mainly IGN) podcasts, people seem to be thinking that it'll be released anywhere between January and mid-May 2013, with the majority settling on somewhere around mid-April.

I reckon that'll turn into Christmas. October or November 2013

Release date may be announced on Thursday. Not going to hold my breath, it's just a game. Getting more interested in Far Cry 3 since it's closer.

and will also be offered via a live webcast for people to watch online.

Could anyone here record the web cast and post it here?

Am listening at the moment, just said it's in "full development" ...sigh

Hopefully the Q and A session will spice up some questions about it.

I assume we can count on some people here to post if anything goes down?

Such a coincidence it goes down when the Q and A session comes on... Have a feeling they don't want us hearing it.

Update: Look's like they ended it. WTF?

No new information at all. They didn't play the Q+A to the public.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,839 ✭✭✭balkieb2002

    Bah arrived too late

    "The live webcast has ended"

Now it's just playing some depressing music to liven up my mood :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

Its odd. I heard the speaker saying that the questioners would have to speak into the central microphone for the benifit of those listening to the broadcast.
I assumed that was us. I'm sure what was asked will be posted somewhere soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,839 ✭✭✭balkieb2002

Just went back into the stream for some reason and its started over again.

Unfortunately it's only 18:36 long and cuts off at exact same spot place as the live meeting so still no Q & A :(

Btw what makes us believe that GTA will even come up at this meeting?? If it doesn't turn up then that makes it a 2013 release?

Well it's a meeting of people with money invested in the company, so they're probably as annoyed, if not more-so, than the GTA fans, as they know that V will bring in truck loads of cash, and they're fed up waiting on it to come out.

I think the presenter of the meeting (can't think of his name off the top of my head) acknowledged a crappy start to the year, financially. GTA V is the (ever elusive) cash cow that they're waiting (im)patiently on.
