Hi guys, just wondering if there's anyone on here that is getting an Ad Astra scholarship? It's kinda confused me because it seems as if i might get a place on-campus but I'm not sure. I don't no whether to go looking for off-campus now or wait to see what the story is!

    I'm the same!! Really confused....

I emailed the Ad Astra people and this is what they said: "Once you have registered I will send out information on how to avail of on-campus accommodation. At this point we should be able to guarantee you a place as we have an allocation of rooms reserved." What a relief!

That's what I gathered from the original communication with them but didn't ask! As long as I have a place to stay I'm not too bothered about where!

Are you logged into UCD Connect or SIS? It's SIS for registering, paying fees and that kinda of stuff.

Its pretty nice. been in it a few times.. gonna be impossible to get a full workout done come september though just because its a free gym for 22000 students..
The pool is unreal.. definitely recommend paying the €100 for the year.. its €4 a pop otherwise.

Yeah I'd say early mornings will have to be done to beat the crowd. After a few weeks most people will probably get bored of it anyway

If he didn't think it seemed big enough during the summer then it's going to be a disaster in a few weeks time. As Niall said there's going to be 22000 people wanting to check the place out come September.

hi everyone, i come to this thread randomly and i am surprised to see the tips given by other students in the UCD!

i am a Hong Kong student who is majoring in English and English education. i will be coming to the UCD for one-semester exchange in September. the course registration really gives me a headache because there are so many courses offered for Arts and Humanities students.

I would like to ask if you guys know any non-EU exchange students who did English courses? Though I have taken quite a number of English literature and linguistics courses in my home university, i am a bit nervous as my mother tongue is not English. Have you heard from any exchange students saying that they had a hard time catching up with the texts?

Plus, I would like to know if Introduction to Film Style and Aesthetics (FS10030) is a good pick. Which one is better for a student who knows little about film theories, particularly in English, Perspectives on Film I (FS10010) or Film Style and Aesthetics (FS10030)?

    Thanks so much!! :DD
