What sort of corn fed halfwit would spend 600 on an emulator handheld? Especially when they could just buy an AES and many games for that... Or better still an MVS with many more games!
If that thing was capable of perfect emulation and came in at less than 150 and had, and this is the deal breaker, an SD card for all my legally owned bin files, I'd buy one. But after the debacle of the crappy "iPod of videogames" that they released that plays feck all and even that badly, I won't hold my breath for a quality console.

Probably the same corn fed halfwit who would spend 2000+ on an AES cart! :D

I've spent the last month trying to get to grips with drawing in a Manga/Anime style. Did a few online tutorials and bought a few books etc. I think I've come along a fair bit and I even managed to draw my very first drawing of a person I actually know in a Manga style and she was pretty darn impressed with it.

Does anyone have any decent resources or could anyone recommend a good book on some more advance stuff?

I've been doing some basic sketches and then importing them to Adobe Illustrator to do the bulk of the work as my freehand style is lacking but my graphics design on the computer is a lot better.

What AES cart is worth 2000? Outside of titles stuffed into one of those plastic sleeves!

Plenty are worth over 2000. PAL Kizuna Encounter and the recently discovered PAL Aero Fighters 3 went for insane money.

It's not really comic book art (yet). It's more a very light Anime version of a person.
My only finished pic is of my GF so I'll get her permission to post the pic here along with the pic that i used as inspiration so you can see where I was coming from.
Don't expect perfection, I'm new at this stuff :)

    Go to life drawing.

    Ok, I got permission :)

The main pics I used for inspiration along with the imported sketch (which had been converted to vector art so I could do lossless work on it):

http://www.posemaniacs.com is amazing on helping to draw poses, I used it for animation and life drawing.

I found Katy Coope's HTDM books the easiest for beginners and a book I've gone back to a few times. At one stage I'd about 12 books but sold/selling most of them now since I've swapped drawing for crafts. Bruce Lewis' book (from O Mahoneys) and Hayden Scott Baron's (from Easons) I would recommend as well.

That's all IMO, might be no good to you like.
What're you doing? are you taking it up as a hobby? Are you making stuff for a website?

Just a hobby right now. I'd like to improve my skill freehand as most of the work at the moment is done on the computer.

Hadn't heard of that Aero Fighters 3 cart! Seems it was the NTSC US version. It wasn't officially released, but someone found 3 preview versions.

30k though, wow! Makes Kizuna look cheap at a measly 10k!

I'd agree with megaten then about life drawing, this video might be helpful in the slightest, just did a quick YT search, most drawing is speed drawings and not on paper

Just following this over on the Neo-geo forums. Apparently that 30k cart looks to have been a bootleg

I had that game on the C64 years ago. I recall the fallout well. I prefer Great Giana Sisters to Salmonhamburger though... :D

If anyone wants to make a misguided and ultimately futile gesture this morning, you can petition Sega to port Planet Harriers to XBLA/PSN. The hows and whats are here:

Sorry for the off topic post but if there's any science geeks out there, the Mars rover Curiosity is landing in 10 mins or so. Live feed on NASA site. :)

Anyone know of a place in Ireland that can print off posters and not charge mental prices for them. A0 size or around that. So far I've been quoted 45 Euro for 1:eek:
