I'd say you'll be hard pressed finding a printer for something as big as A0 fur under 45 euro.

Reads on Nassau street were always the best I found for printing stuff when I was back in college. Snapfish are good online. But I'd say they'd both charge about that for printing.

In fact, if anyone could find a cheap A1-A0 printer I'd be interested myself!

Just following this over on the Neo-geo forums. Apparently that 30k cart looks to have been a bootleg

Was just reading that thread and man there's some over-serious individuals on that forum. I guess when people are spending thousands and thousands on games there's going to be some drama, but all the bitching and fighting makes for some sad reading.

Makes you appreciate forums like this without all that nonsense.

I might settle for A1 as its almost the same size as those Maxi posters. Can get that done for €19 on 130gsm paper or €23 for 180gsm photographic paper.

Neo-geo.com is the worst gaming forum for drama. There really is nothing like it. It's even in one of their taglines. They do pay big money for games, so when something goes wrong, jeez, it's like the world is ending.

It was interesting to read the analysis from the guy who bought it though. He had some serious AES cart knowledge. Even down to saying how the gloss shine when the light hits it is wrong, some parts are too high quality (the MEG count and the lack of distance between ink dots) - it's amazing to the point of museum type analysis, but my god is it crazy. Why anyone would bother I really don't know.

You're talking about games which are so expensive, people are traveling around the world to collect them in person. They take it to a point so serious I'm actually embarrassed for them.

That's not bad at all! Is that a personal deal you have with someone or something we can all avail of? I wouldn't mind getting some A1 posters for the house.

A1 is a really good poster size. You'd really want to love an image to have it blown up to A0 though. And my god would you need to have one hell of a high quality source file!

Have you ever looked into French cinema art posters at all? They're colossal. They can cost a fortune though. There's one I've been trying to get for ages, but it's just too expensive to justify.

    No special deal.
I've never used them so not sure if they're good or bad.

I'm not even looking to get anything special printed just yet. Just some cool non gaming related artwork I came across online that I've converted to vectors. Sort of a test order before I get some other stuff done.

Never met a chinese knock off I liked!

I really must do a bit of work on the storage upstairs.
Not sure where to relocate the PS2 stuff though....

Going to subdivide the space they are currently in into separate spaces, get a string of led lights and hook'em up.... bit of repainting... some magic.... BANG! A better looking, better functioning gamesroom that I don't get to use, instead of a tired busted gamesroom I never use!

It's tragic to look at all this good stuff and realise how seldom it is played.

    Don't know :(

I actually saw maids handing those flyers out in Akiba. Wife wouldn't let me buy one. :(

Going to a screening of a film called My Brothers during the week. I had a quick glance at the synopsis, and the last line caught my eye:
Set over Halloween weekend in 1987, My Brothers is the story of the three boys’ journey to replace their dying father’s watch. NOEL (Timmy Creed) is seventeen, serious, weighed down by responsibility. Twelve-year- old PAUDIE (Paul Courtney) is cocky, not so bright and dreams of playing in goals for Liverpool and the youngest is seven year old SCWALLY (T.J Griffin) – daydreamer, naïve and obsessed with Star Wars (despite never actually having seen the films). Using a battered bread van, the brothers embark on a journey across the wild Irish landscape, grappling with grinding gears, dodgy electrics and sibling tensions to get to an arcade machine in a small Irish seaside town

It's very good, only seen that in the past 3 weeks, same thing, from babysitting since I don't have CN at home.
Is the font from a game? or just looks like one? it's really bugging me.

I love google's olympic doodle for today. It's a 100m hurdles button basher flash game. Reminds me of playing track and field on the NES years ago.

Oh I saw that last year. It's really good. The fat kid is really funny.

The arcade machine in question is just a claw machine if I recall though.

Going by the type of mig he's running, he probably stuck Crysis on too high a setting.

I hadn't powered up the Amiga 1200 in a while and as I'm planning some Amiga mods to either the A600 or/and A1200 I decided it was time to give it a bit of usage.
Ran it for an hour on the normal PSU and then I was in the kitchen and could smell that electrical burning smell that we all hate when we know expensive things aren powered on (Amiga 1200 not so pricey but the upgrades in it cost a small fortune).
Went upstairs to the office and the back of the Amiga was smoking like crazy.

    BAD TIMES :(

Hahaha Oh god. A signed for package arrived out in my folks house for me while they were away.

They drove out to collect it for me (aren't they great?!)

Oisin's mother: 'Its a blue thing, looks like a lens, maybe a tray?'

Oisin: 'Ah, that's an arcade ashtray! they're great to put jellybeans in!'

Oisin's mother: 'we drove all the way out to the post office to pick up something you put jellybeans in???!'

I told her she could have the first jellybean - she's still not impressed.

You should go to bed and not turn on any other expensive electrical goods until tomorrow, it's just not your day.
